Mando's new blog: History between Aponte and Ireland

It will have something to do with personnel if she chases off good candidates as well.

Pure speculation and only that.

I am asking a question...I think it is fair to say nobody is qualified on this site...do you think she has earned the chance to run the football ops? Don't dodge the question...

Earned the chance? Depends what the criteria is. She has succeeded at every aspect of her job since arriving and is now one of the owner's most trusted employees. Whether she has the abilities to run football ops is beyond me, I've never sat down and spoke with her. I've never worked with her. I don't even know her. So for me to say what she is or isn't qualified for is just ridiculous.

Like I said before, an employee who achieves success, gains trust, usually advances up in an organization. Unless of course you're a woman, then it's a crap shoot depending on who's in charge.

I'm more than happy with her staying on this team, continually achieving success at her current position, just as I'd be if she wanted more and to move up. Well because like her, I'm ambitious and want more too.

I'm not going to argue with you, I just wanted to get my point out there. As it doesn't matter one way or another.

You mean like firing Philbin? We get it Hayden we really do but he is still here so let it play out.

Isn't all this speculation? While Mando is obviously on one side of this the things he talked about have happened. Who really knows what is going on, but it really does sound like a lot of office politics going on in Davie?

John Clayton, Andrew Abramson, Jason Laconfora and Mando have all speculated that she could get more power and head football ops.

Nothing to do with personnel, eh? LOL.
As heavily as you ridicule LaConfora makes its ridiculous that you insert his name here. And it's not as if you don't chastise Armando either. What's funny is what your writing in here is the equivalent of Armando and his blog.

Also, has no one here ever worked in Corporate America??? "Oh office politics, backstabbing to get ahead, wahhhh"

**** happens everywhere, everyday. This ain't a place for the soft. This is high stakes business

I do not mind Mando.

You need to take the one-sided slant out of Mando's article and look at the incidents that he claims. Most have been discussed on this or other forums throughout the season. I am telling you this is a power play by Aponte and as long as she is associated with Miami we are going to be what we are...

Aponte is a pro at snaking her way up the ladder. Of course Jeff needed to go. But, if anyone thinks potential GM candidates will not take Aponte's propensity for power moves into consideration, you are probably mistaken.

Just FYI, before Aponte was promoted last year, her title was Senior Vice President of Football Operations

Right but she had no say in personnel. She didn't pick free agents or draft picks. That's what matters here, right? In fact, I'm perfectly happy with Aponte remaining as the team's contract negotiator and capologist. She's done a good job -- we're in good cap health.

Bring someone else in to pick the players and let her continue managing the cap. Give her whatever dumb title you want. What's the big deal?

Yep, that's exactly what I was saying. My comment was more directed at Hayden Fox - he seems to think the VP of Football Operations makes personnel decisions, but he also doesn't realize Aponte already was VP of Football Operations, and she didn't make personnel decisions.
