Mando's new blog: History between Aponte and Ireland

But personally I think CK says it best

I'm sorry, I can't even be polite about this. Armando Salguero is engaging in a straight up hit job on Aponte, on Ireland's behalf.

Oh now you like CK? But when he turns on this site and staff you don't!

Do you guys think Aponte and Philbin's presence could hurt the team's ability to bring in a strong GM candidate? That is all that matters right now.

What do you think Hayden? You view is front page worthy don't post a question own the thread!

I wonder if he still thinks Olivier Vernon sucks. :rolleyes2:

So, let me get this straight...

Ireland wanted to fire her simply because she was friendly with Ross and then there were problems AFTER that? :chuckle:

Aponte maybe. Philbin, no.

I don't think having an existing coach hurts AT ALL. I think Philbin's current situation actually makes the job more appealing. People are on the fence about him and he has a 15-17 record over his first two years. You tell the owner "Sure, I will give him a year... but if he does a bad job, I'm going to want to bring in a new coach." Owner agrees. GM has just bought himself one free year to get started on building the team the way he wants it.

I think Ross tells the gm candidate you can have a year to decide if Philbin stays.

I just do not get it. If you are rising star as a GM, why would you not want to start the process with your own guy immediately?

The only puppet here is Armando and Ireland is pulling the strings.
I agree and who cares. Mando is a character and writes this stuff because he has to write something. Take it with a grain of salt if that.

Maybe the new GM likes Philbin. Everyone is speculating the new GM will not.

Ross just gave the previous GM 6 years. That is two whole Coaching staffs.
The Philbin question is a non-start
Not to mention all the high end coaching candidates are probably going to be gone by the time we conclude our search.

It is better as a GM to wait it out and lay the ground work for getting your own guy at the end of next year then sifting through scraps.

What is really unbelievable is that Hayden seems completely oblivious to this fact.
