Just heard from a league source that NFL teams are salivating about the possibility that Matt Moore gets released by the Dolphins when it comes time to produce a 53-man roster. Problem is I don't see it happening considering 1. David Garrard's injury/health history. 2. The Dolphins haven't gone through an NFL season without NEEDING three quarterbacks in at least five years. 3. If Garrard is the starter then which veteran does the advance scout for him, preparing for next week's opponent?

IF an NFL teams wants Matt Moore they'll likely have to offer up a 6th RD pick for the career journeyman, who produced a 87.1 QB rating in 2011. I'm told the west coast offense is a bad fit for him (and I agree), but he'd excel in a pro style offense. And his price tag $2.75 million wouldn't scare anyone off. But having Moore on Miami's roster is a great break in case of emergency situation, even with Ryan Tannehill as the No. 2. His value could also rise IF another NFL team loses a starter

David Garrard is beating Matt Moore because he's CONSISTENTLY steady. His decisions come quick, the ball is gone fast, and it is thrown accurate. He makes great calls at the line because of his experience. He's been there, done that. You want a QB like that because he keeps you out of trouble. Question is, can he win games? Can he deliver the big plays? Moore can deliver the big plays, but he'll cost you at time. And this west coast offense doesn't fit his strengths. But he's still solid

The problem the Dolphins have is WHOEVER loses the starting quarterback job will immediate become the No. 3 guy because Ryan Tannehill has to be the No. 2, and he needs work.

Omar just stop it..............

Omar has his errrr, likes and dislikes.. always has if u haven't noticed. Garrard is one hit away from the services of Hawkeye and Trapper John.

6th rounder? Screw that. Somebody is going to have an injury or emergency situation in preseason or early in the season. Then if our qb situation warrants , we can trade him for more than that. That being said, I'm still hopeful Moore will shine in the preseason games and be our starter.

My thoughts exactly, if teams are that desperate for a QB.

I'll start the bidding at a 4th.

It will come down to keeping Moore or Garrard as insurance or keeping the 53rd best player who may help out on special teams.
How many starting QB's for us have finished the complete season healthy ? Remember the Chicago game where both QB's got hurt and we HAD to run the wildcat ?
As the season goes on starting QB's will be hurt and whom ever we keep might bring a higher pick than the 6 th Omar says. Keep all three on the roster just in case.

IMO keep all 4.

Devlin goes to PS as most us expect. If Garrard is the man, he starts and you keep Moore in your back pocket just in case. If times get tough for another team offer up Moore for a 3rd/4th.

I really like Moore, great fiery competitor, just the kind of guy you want in your locker room. But hey if Garrard is truly unquestionably over playing him than I guess this does make Moore expendeble. Just do not under any circumstance trade him within the division, if traded to the jets he will be their savior, if traded to the pats he will throw 6 td's in a meaningless last regular season game and proceed to trade him in off-season 4 some draft picks... I'll say he goes to GB, they need a backup pretty bad. 4th rounder or no deal...

We should get at least a 5th for him or keep him.

He's worth more to us than a 5th. I'm not saying his market value is greater, but it's not worth giving up a known reliable qb for a 5th when you really don't have a settled qb situation yet. Even if Garrard is clearly better, he's old and one hit away from done.

I'd only consider it if somebody was willing to overpay, like a 4th, or even a 3rd if you get 2 teams in a bidding war.

We finally have somewhat quality depth and real competition at the QB position, why in the hell would we voluntarily abandon that without receiving significant payment? IMO, we keep all 4 QBs through the season unless someone steps up with a quality offer. As someone mentioned earlier, at least a 4th would have to be on the table to get Moore or Garrard. They are both cheap and what is the 53rd roster spot really going to bring to the table that a great deal of security would not? We also need to wait at least until near the end of the exhibition season to ensure that we have healthy QBs before we trade anyone! This situation rectifies itself next year as Garrard and Moore are both FA, presumably Tannehill can start and Devlin could back him up.

Devlin would be poached off the PS

Devlin would be poached off the PS

Whom would be willing to take him, exactly? He won't be poached. Give me a break. This site's obssession with fringe players is disgusting. It's like if a team QBd by Matt Moore with Anthony Fasano and Richie Incognito went against Pat Devlin, Les Brown and Nate Garner you'd have people claiming that the latter was MUCH more talented!

Garrard is playing well, but his back issues cannot be ruled out until we see him play several full games. A drive here or there in preseason games will not end the speculation that his back could flare up at any time after running a high tempo offense for 60 plays per game or QB sacks.. We must keep Moore as insurance until games 5-8.

What happens if Garrard plays statistically well in the first few games, but a couple of bonehead QB plays or QB turnovers(his back is bothering him, but he is unwilling to come off the field) ..and we string together a few losses? Everyone will be calling for Moore or RT..

Moore stock will be at it's highest by the mid season trade deadline. That is the right time to deal him. If anything happens to Garrard in the 2nd half of the season, RT will be sufficiently groomed to take over the starters job..for better or for worse..he will have to learn on the fly.

We need to keep Garrard, Moore, and RT.

I would actually like the team to keep 4 QB's. Let Devlin play ST's. Devlin may be a sleeper, and he has improved plus he is a high percentage WCO guy.
By the end of the season either Moore or Garrard will be gone, and by next season, both will definitely be gone. Devlin backing up RT makes real good sense to me going forward. It would be a big mistake to cut him loose IMHO.

Omar is a tool.

Why in such a hurry to rid ourselves of our team MVP from last year??

Keep him, use him; Garrard's durability status is an unknown; we NEED two veterans to insure that Tannehill doesn't get thrown to the wolves should one of them break/suck.

We'd like to go 7-9 or 8-8, not 3-13.
