Marshall traded to Chicago

I never really had a problem with Ireland as GM...until now

Yes, on the surface the trade looks terrible. But, I, for one, am going to sit back, relax, and wait to see how this plays out.
No need for me to get hysterical and jump off of a bridge.........yet.

Jesus Christ

Do I detect some...negativity, sky is falling, Debbie Downer, etc., from the Glass Half Full award winner?

Sit back and watch, my friend.

Initially, I was pissed when I got the text alert myself.

This is INCREDIBLY risky. We've gone from potentially one of the best offseasons in recent memory to what could be a disaster scenario if you don't reel in Manning and Wayne.

Not being behind the scenes, it's easy for me to say that it's risky business when you haven't landed Manning and Wayne yet, but I think the guys up top are feeling pretty confident that they're getting Manning and Wayne and they're freeing up cap space to do so.

JCane has a good feeling about this one.

Life goes on without Marshall. Denver replaced him with Brandon Lloyd and didn't miss him. Chad Henne looked the same with Marshall as he did with Ted Ginn. Marshall is a very good player, but "teams" can get by without him.

Yes sir, buy high sell low..nice move Ireland. Even if it does result in giving us cap space for other moves, I can't beleive we couldn't have shopped a little longer to get respectable compensation. Two 3rd's is a F-ing joke for a legit #1 receiver.

We got got him for 2 - 2nd rounders. He's 2 years older so his value went down. Not surprising.

so sad: just two 3rd rounders.... there is no way this is a good trade for us, not after paying two 2nd for him! (I mean, with us he did not hold out as in Denver; he did't suffer an injueryù; his produtcion is still elite!)
and if i may say about the possible explanation:

- if this is because Manning said so...well, I have to say, I am not so happy about a player being our GM...I don't think are the players that should say ordecide these kind of things.... (I am not saying I am against Manning in Miami, of course)

- if this is because Marshall forced our hand it makes me more angry! what are we? just the puppets of our under-achiever WR?

sorry for my bad English

This trade is so mindblowingly awful that I have to hear the pollyannas on this board spin this one positively.

just read the titans forums, they are laughing at our front office for doing this. I am furious right now.

I'm staggered gotta stay, just checked my twitter while I was in a meeting and saw this, 2 3rd rounds are you kidding me ? How come we can't pull off deals like philly did for kolb or the bengals did for palmer ?

This is my exact response. I'm quite sure there is some kind of plan in place but Marshall is still worth much more than two 3rd rounders. This is why it seems like we have been rebuilding for so long. Trade 2 2nd rounders to get a legit #1 WR to then trade him two years later for 2 3rd rounders.

Well Vontae is happy......

They for darn sure did. And just because Henne didn't know how to throw to a downfield threat doesn't mean Marshall wasn't one, or maybe you missed he and Moore lighting up the league to be amongst the top in passes over 20 yards?

Classic Addition by Subtraction.

He can take his Pro Bowl MVP too. What a loser.
