Martin checked into hospital; Philbin visited; Martin never said anything about Incog

Slowly but surely, motive is being squeezed out. Incognito and his motive were tarnished with out facts, until today. Now Martin and his camp, and on ESPN a 17+ million dollar figure was thrown out, for the Martins to sue in FL. The medias motive is natural along with others around here and in the country, they want a 'cause'.

Even if Jon Martin came out right now and said "Gee guys, I'm sorry, I didn't mean for all of this to happen, I just wanted to keep my signing bonus," they will say he is being coerced by the evil NFL and afraid of retribution from the Dolphins.

The narrative on this is never going to be about money. Nobody wants to hear that unethical **** was done for money in a situation like this. Not when there are so many great political points to score.

I have waffled on this as details have come out, but at the core I have thought this is about money in some way. Whether it's the Dolphins trying to recoup money from him (NFI) or Martin trying to preserve his signing bonus (claiming workplace discrimination)...

For the people taking the Martin suing angle ( I'm not disagreeing with you ). My question is what exactly would he press charges for and to whom exactly would they be faced at? The NFL? The Fins? Or just Incog?

You guys really think he can sue the league/fins for millions based just off that text/VM? I've never seen anything like that in my life.

Martins lawyer mommy and daddy know his career is done. Get money somehow because of course he is a victim. It's never his own lack of backbone or communication if there were a problem

You sure do love to speculate. Lets try sticking to the facts that we have, OK Skip?

We're all speculating on this issue. Everyone. You included. So save the bull****.

That's his problem. And that isn't too harsh when you're the only player on the team that feels that way. If that is indeed his excuse.

If that is his excuse then he needs to provide a valid reason, maybe an example of the coaches behavior, that would give come credence to his claim.

THAT is the question, isn't it? Unless other details come out that make this whole thing even more complex, which wouldn't surprise me at this point.

I just want this whole thing to be over, man.

Hot coffee in the groin made a lady a millionaire. They are prob going for a settlement out of court. Easy win for them.

This became political once the buzz words started flying around. Once the north east liberal corridor got ahold of their 'cause', it was over. Add some lawyers from California and 7 month old TXT/VM, and you have a pay day from the NFL. The media outlets on this story, don't want truth, they want a 'cause'. The truth won't matter, ask the White/Hispanic from Florida.

The interview between CC and the woman on ESPN showed me everything I needed. When the WHITE woman didn't like what CC had to say about the locker room and Pouncey, the woman had to take a dig at Pouncey to down play his interview. To her, Pouncey judgment was in question because of Hernandez and his views shouldn't be taken all that serious.

People just don't get it. everything you say can and will be held against you, so don't say anything. Simple. I don't think Martin has any plans to ever play football again, but he will try to cash out on this before he leaves.

Calls me clueless in another thread, then pretty much says what I said..

Priceless...

Not filing a lawsuit for money, but protecting money he already has guaranteed to him. Remember Ricky Williams? When he quit, what did Wayne Huizenga do? HE WENT AFTER RICKY for his signing bonus.

Again, he will say he was not comfortable with Joe so it did not say anything.

Good this means that Joe wasn't aware of the situation and when it was brought to his attention it was fixed. Martin not telling or stating that he wasn't comfortable coming forward is the best thing ever for Miami as a team. Instant defense.

If that was the only money that he was going after this would've been squashed. What's he still owed like 1mil? He was on a rookie second round contract. If that was it I feel like it would be paid and people would move on. Just to avoid this kind of attention.

yep...they want the dolphins to just roll over and hush hush it...and goodell does too...sweep it under the rug...i hope we fight it frankly...and out this quitting loser for what he is...a fraud

Well, this whole thing went nuclear right after the team said it was going to put him on the NFI list, which meant he wasn't going to get paid. You can say "oh, it's not that much money," but hundreds of thousands of dollars is a lot of money. And from the Dolphins' standpoint, I believe it was about principle -- the same reason they went after Ricky. I am not saying it is right, but I am saying that I think the Dolphins would have felt like they had to take a stand and set a precedent.

Lousy situation all around.
