Marvez: McAdoo to take Giants OC job

Tom Coughlin us 67 years old and couldn't muster a winning record in the worst division in football. His team is very old and generally does not look good. He does not survive another losing season I guarantee you that.

Nobody wants to say that the coordinator candidates aren't thrilled with the combo of an average quarterback tied to a coach who may be on the hot seat next season. They wouldn't care about Philbin's situation if they were convinced Tannehill is on the verge of elite.

Coughlin is gone if he misses the playoffs again dude. If you care to wager on that....we can.

Two Super Bowls didnt keep Shula safe from Jimmy Johnson.

So the bet is we are assuming that Giants miss the playoffs…you got that he is fired and I get he comes back for '15? Awesome bet idea, but no thanks.

Your assumption that these other people are accepting other jobs because of doubt on Miami's is a fallacy. Lazor and McAdoo took jobs that were offered to them. Everything I read says that we are still interviewing so why would we have offered someone a job if we are still interviewing.

Kubiak obviously is angling for HC jobs first.

Lets drop the panic statements until we actually have to promote from within or hire a true D list candidate.

Great. Joe coached in a **** division and has won a grand total of four division games in the last two years. Give me a break. Coughlin might be in trouble, but stop comparing Joe to him. One is a HOF worthy coach another should be an assistant somewhere.

Agree with you on Coughlin. Another tough year and he is out. We will be competing with the Giants for FA offensive lineman....

I think he is comparing the situation of the two coaches in appearance to OC candidates...not comparing the two in terms of success. Coughlin has had a very successful career.....

OUCH

Big factor for McAdoo is picking NYG over others? Source keeps it simple, saying it was because Giants are a "5-star organization".

Please keep telling me that McAdoo does not know what he is doing.

It is Steve Ross' job to get Miami to this spot.

Stop making every argument an indictment on Philbin.

You are completely ignoring the fact that Coughlin is 67. That makes him the oldest head coach that I can think of. If you don't think that is a factor you are DELUSIONAL

HOLD ON! HOLD ON! That is not the case. My issue is that people are making Couglin and Joe equals within the profession…that is ludicrous.

HOWEVER, I have blamed the fruitless OC search not on Philbin, but Steve Ross. Joe had his OC he wanted in Sherman, but in all his wisdom, Ross wanted a change. Joe obliged. However, Joe should not be in this spot, but is because of his owner. This is on Ross, not Philbin. However, it IS Philbin's problem to deal with. He is in a tough spot.

That sucks. Well, now my clear favorite candidate is Lazor ... so here's hoping we select him and he agrees to come here.

[dr.evil] Cool! You mean that I might actually have frickin' Dolphins with frickin' Lazor beams attached to their frickin' heads?!?!?!?!? [/dr.evil]

Giants are a 5 star organization because they are.
The Mara's have owned the Giants since 1925
Their GM Jerry Reese has been in the franchise since 1994 and the GM since 2007.

That is some enviable stability.

It is completely unfair to evaluate Miami in the prism of the NYG because you are talking about the class of the NFL.

Why does everything in the media get an overreaction from you?

Read my other posts and you will see I blame Ross not Joe. Unfortunately, it is Joe's problem now.

If that is the case I retract. I guess I misinterpreted the intent of your previous post.
