Marvez: McAdoo to take Giants OC job

Bring on da' Kubiak.

I got to go Shopvac a basement. I will be back to take static later….lol.

I appreciate all you guys here. I do. Fins up! I love the debate….one day we will be playing deep into January and not debating who the OC will be.

You understand that Miami is not a desirable spot for a lot of the candidates. Kubiak is going to command big money and a bigger commitment in terms of contract. He does not need to coach next year. Plus, Baltimore is a better spot than Miami currently.

I like how people automatically think Kubiak is going to be the guy now…I would jump on that idea until you see it happen.

Hayden, Is it the zero state tax, the very promising young QB, the 2nd wealthiest owner in the NFL who is committed to making the team a winner, the great climate or Joe Philbin as our Head Coach that makes it such an undesirable place to be?

I meant to say they incorporated what RGIII did well. typo.

You do not think the read option was incorporating what RGIII did well and put it with what the original offseason?

they ran the guy to so much contact he was a shell of himself to start the 2013 season...that guys game completely revolves around the threat of his legs and his quick acceleration and they did absolutely nothing to try and preserve that...and i mean nothing

None of the above. If someone was scared away from this job, IMO, it was because:

1. Not sure the team has adequate personnel (OL, RB being the two biggest concerns).
2. Joe Philbin is a presumed lame duck head coach.
3. Not sure what's going on with the front office shakeup.

If you are a young and unproven guy like McAdoo with other options, wouldn't you want to go some place where you'd feel a lot better about having two years on the job? With proven offensive talent to work with? A team with a stable front office and two time Super Bowl winning coach that the ownership at this point just doesn't want to fire?

The only reason not to come here imo is philbin is on a hot seat. He could get fired next year and that means the entire staff he hired would be gone. As for GM, i think it is fairly attractive

Absolutely, that whole offense was like something out of Inspector Gadget... set to explode in 10 seconds. It was madness for anyone to think it could be sustained year after year.

In fairness to Shanahan, though -- not that I wanted him as our OC -- weren't they like 8th in yards last year regardless? Seem to remember that.

In all honesty I never expected shannahan to preserve rg3 and I never expected him to work with rg3 in a way that benefited rg3s future.

That team lacked talent, and shanny is old, he probably figured I'm going all in with rg3 and letting him do what he does best, if he breaks, I'll be gone anyway, and I'm cool with that.

At least that's how I always figured shanny would see it. There has never been a coach who cared less about players health than shanny.

I think this is a fair point to make.....but I also look at it the other way. After the season he had, is Tom Coughlin not on the hot seat as well?

Also, I don't think you go into one of these jobs with the fear of failure driving your decision. If I'm looking at our roster vs. the Giants......I think we stack up pretty well.

Just a different viewpoint....

I won't lie, I am one of the ones that didn't like the friendship aspect between him and Philbin. That didn't go so well the last two years.

Cronyism is part of what has held this franchise back for the last 12 to 13 yrs. Part of a new job is that its the new people & new place give you a chance to broaden your horizons as well.

Shannahan wanted tannehill at least his father did. So I'm sure he's thrilled with the idea of coaching tannehill

I don't believe Philbin is on a hot seat, its not any hotter than the average NFL head coaching job anyway.

yeah the pistol and read op run game were nasty...no doubt...but the qb played pinball in the pocket with a gimp leg pretty much all season...accumulation of all that contact they ran him to in 2012...that and he was forced to stand in the pocket more cause the legs were not a threat to the opposition

rg3's body could not sustain that...neither can ryan tannehills if anyone needs a year of as little contact as possible it's ryan tannehill in 2014 but hopefully even shanny if he came here would recognize not to let him take it as a ball carrier at least...
