There word that ESPN's John Clayton was on Seattle radio & said that Matt Flynn spent all day with the Seahawks & has already left to visit the Miami Dolphins. Also Packers beat writer Tom Silverstein wrote that Flynn visited with Seahawks on Thursday & if he did not sign a contract would be visiting Miami on Friday.

Hell with Manning . . . let Philbin get his boy and lets get put all this QB drama to rest

Now I'm getting excited about Flynn. Whatever, you gotta take a chance on him at this point. We wont lose a draft pick. Go draft Malcolm Floyd, yes at 8 if blackmon isn't there. Rodgers would've killed to have our line when he first became the starter and we have a whole draft to improve it.

I've seen a lot of people suggesting we sign Flynn and draft Malcolm Floyd. I gotta admit, at this point that looks like it might be the best way to salvage what we've got here. If Joe believes in Flynn, then maybe he's gotta be our guy.

Considering Floyd's DUI issues, I'm wondering if he is even on our big board. Hopefully, he is a good guy with some bad luck and it shows during interviews...

i think we will strike out again to be honest, i have no faith in ireland anymore after he could not even get a meeting with peyton.

What gets me a little irate is that if they sign Matt Flynn you know there are going to be people that try and insist that Joe Philbin didn't want him or somehow gave him a bad review to the staff.

That's just an example of the funny logic you see in some people around here.

Yea I have that same concern, but I have been trying to get info on how teams are feeling about him during the combine for a while and for the most part teams have been impressed with him in his interviews. Then again Ireland hasn't really built up a reputation of being great at this process in the draft so who knows.

We did meet up with him at the combine

When it comes to qb of course we should have no faith. iN REALITY though I think Manning was never truly interested in us. why go play for a team that just made a coaching change, he knows nothing of Philben, no real record as a coach. we are not close to a superbowl team so why possibly waste two years of your career. Im not big on manning because the money would cripple our cap, not that we have such a good cap anyway but still. I also do think players look at us as somewhat disfunctional but hopefully Philben cures that.

Oh I think they want him pretty bad, in the same Seattle Radio interview Clayton said Seattle will likely offer him 2 years 12 million. Miami, are you ready? 5 years 40/45 million.

Im not a big Flynn fan and dont really see him as a guy I want to build around at qb but nobody has the knowledge on him that Philben has. If Philben wants him I give him the benefit of the doubt, if he is wrong then we probably wont have Philben here to talk about in 3 years . this is a guy he has worked with for years so its fitting that his job hang in Flynn's balance if he signs him.

Jennings, Nelson, and Cobb were drafted in the 2nd RD - Cobb coming at the very end of the 2nd; Jones was a 3rd RD pick. I'm not saying Philbin will refuse to draft a WR in the 1st, but I think he's been part of a successful model, and if Ireland is telling the truth, Philbin will get a substantial say.

This is just to say: I don't see us drafting a WR in the 1st this year.

If Miami can get him at 5 years/40 million . . . that would be just fine. It's not Kolb money but it is starter money . . . and it would probably eliminate Ryan Tannehill from the equation (unless its structured with some sort of out). 2 years and 12 million I'm guessing Tannehill would still be very much on the table.

Im pretty sure that he wasnt close to final say on draft picks esp wr's. They drafted alot of linemen in early rounds so that was probably his say and if thats an indication then we take line. Drafted olinemen last two years.
