Matt Flynn already on his way to Miami

Tannehill is so far away from producing positive results on the field. I like his athletic ability, but did you ever see results on the field that actually made you say "wow".

He has tools...no question. However, I still struggling seeing how he belongs in the top ten outside of the need factor.
Definitely. The kid's basically still a receiver. Tannehill needs serious development in the pros. In the meantime, I don't feel we're that close to the prize. Flynn being an elite franchise QB is a pretty big longshot. I wouldn't mind sticking with Moore letting him hold it together while we develop Tannehill and maybe next year pick up another higher quality QB prospect. I want to aggressively solve the QB position not take half assed measures or commit to gambling on longshots.

I don't understand the timing of the Marshall trade. Chi knew about the altercation so Ireland wasn't hoodwinking anyone. So now we'll be hosting a FA QB while Hartline would be his number one receiving threat. How is that appealing to Flynn? Something must be missing. I don't get it.

If we sign Flynn, any chance we draft Weeden as wel?

i dont get people who dont get marshall being gone.

that said, Flynn is a guy that knows what Philbin is going to implement. The learning curve thing is huge especially since we will have new recievers.

I know we looked at Floyd and I am sure they looked deep into his altercation(s). We drafted Vontae when he has issues they looked into deep. But you know that these guys are looking into the WR class deep and will come out with one guy you never heard of or never thought we would sign. Philbin must also be eyeing a TE from GB.

IMO, sign Flynn to a 3 year deal and still draft Tannehill. Flynn knows the system now and Tanny will learn. If they both turn out to be studs, then we have a very good problem on our hands in 2-3 years.

to go back to the opening-post. i have read on different side, that Flynn was flying thursday-evening, spent the whole friday in Seatlle, and fly after that to Miami.

Manning is was always a shot in the dark - 36 yrs old - can his body hold up to the blindside hit? Only time will tell

You sign Flynn you don't need Tanny he is a project - you already have Moore and Devlin

If Flynn is piss poor (I doubt it) you draft QB in first rd next year

That would be an incredible waste tying so much money up on QB's. Flynn + WR's in rounds 1 and 3.

I personally think getting Peyton Manning was a mistake to start with. When I rationally got over the "hype" of having Peyton Manning on the Dolphins....the real truth was obvious.

Peyton
36 years old
hasn't played live football 2 years
4 neck surgeries
human growth hormone shots(out of US)
new coach, new players, new system
cost too much

Matt Flynn
young
unproven
played awesome when called upon
been in the NFL awhile
worked with Coach Philbin
injury free
moderately costly
could be franchise QB

I dont get how people think Flynn is a huge risk, but drafting a QB in round #1 isn't? I would rather get a 26 year old who has been in the pro's for 4 years and knows what it takes to make t in the NFL, then draft a QB in the first round and hope. I think signing Flynn has always been the smarter move if Philbin thinks Flynn can be "the man!"

Im not a big Flynn fan and dont really see him as a guy I want to build around at qb but nobody has the knowledge on him that Philben has. If Philben wants him I give him the benefit of the doubt, if he is wrong then we probably wont have Philben here to talk about in 3 years . this is a guy he has worked with for years so its fitting that his job hang in Flynn's balance if he signs him.

exactly

Now I'm getting excited about Flynn. Whatever, you gotta take a chance on him at this point. We wont lose a draft pick. Go draft Malcolm Floyd, yes at 8 if blackmon isn't there. Rodgers would've killed to have our line when he first became the starter and we have a whole draft to improve it.

I believe you mean Michael Floyd, from ND.

Shefter just mentioned that he knows that Flynn is spending today in Seattle (but does think he will end up donning the beautiful and proud aqua/orange.)
