ckparrothead said:Yeah, that is true. But I am concerned that we may be sacrificing too much pass protection from Carey to D-Mac, in order to get that boost at RT.
Overall I'm very disappointed with McDougle's play prompting this move. At one point he looked like a real steal at RT and now his lapses in concentration have almost cost him his starting position.
Brett Tessler said:Just wanted to let you all know that as of last week I am now representing Damion McIntosh. In regards to the recent shakeup in the starting lineup, I think it makes sense. While Vernon Carey has done a very nice job at left tackle up to this point, it's such a crucial position that coaches prefer to go with somebody experienced. D-Mac wasn't close to healthy last year and it showed in his performance. In case you haven't watched Damion closely this year, he's been incredible (and I'm not just saying that because I'm his agent). He's been a proven starting left tackle for years and that's why Miami and other teams wanted him so badly last offseason. I think Vernon will make the adjustment to the right side just fine and it will only take pressure off him and aid in his development in the long run.
yeah, sorry, but i have a hard time believing all of this because you prefaced it with "I am now representing Damion McIntosh". And then you go on to say he's been an "incredible [...] proven starting left tackle".
ckparrothead said:I'll defer to Brett on this one, but I think that once you switch agents the standard 3 percent of your base salary also switches from old agent to new agent. Besides, I said Brett is doing a good job and that's key to note, because an agent's JOB is to look out for the best interests of his client at all times, right or wrong. Basically, his job is to be biased and convince everyone that Damion is the best thing since sliced bread. There's nothing wrong with that. Having read what Brett has had to see on the subject of being an agent I am convinced that he is a knowledgeable, professional, experienced, and successful NFL agent.
But he'll have to understand that when he comes out with something like this about a client of us, we assume he's biased because he's paid to be.
Brett Tessler said:I took no offense to you, so please take no offense to me when I tell you that I couldn't care less what you think about Damion McIntosh or anything else for that matter. Your opinion is of no importance to me or any of my clients (unless you're also the general manager of an NFL team). If you think I hang out here because it "my job" or "in my client's best interests", you're wrong. The reason why I hang out here is because I enjoy it. Also, an agent's commission does NOT transfer when a player switches.
Disgustipate said:I dont want to insult Mr. Tessler or anything like that, and I do appreciate him coming in here and giving us answers. It's neat to have an agent on hand and all that, but I dont think he knows decisively whether or not this is a permanant move or not. They wouldnt have told McIntosh yet the starting job is his, nor would they phone up his agent and ask him.Saban has already said not to put too much stock into who practices where.

You can do the same with Left Tackle.
