McIntosh and the O-line shakeup...

And Brett Tessler.

Actually Brett seems to be implying that McIntosh is our best lineman, so no, Brett doesn't disagree on putting your best OL at LT.

Anyway at this point we can't even be sure that this isn't something Saban is merely doing to send a shot across the bow of Stockar McDougle...so maybe we shouldnt get all overexcited about this.

I never was excited, nothing about our O-line excites me at all. The only time I get excited about the line is when I'm throwing my beer can at the TV after another blown blocking assignment.

Unless nick Feels that pass protection is more important for the LT, and that DM is ahead (in pass protection) of Carey at this point. If that is the case, then we have a similar situation as when we had Dixon as our LT and Wade as our RT. Don't make me break it down to madden numbers.:goof:

I agree but I have high hopes for Carey.

All I know is I liked very much the things Damion said today in his PC. I love the positive attitude he seems to bring the OL.

I noticed you said CAN, so we "can" assume it was empty? you weren't too excited unless you threw a can full of beer at the tv...

Positive attitudes is fine and all as long as it translate into opening holes for the running back and protecting the QB.

If he feels that way, he must see a lot in practice that counter-balances against what has been seen in the games.

I wouldn't waste a cold one like that, that's just wrong.

Interesting assessment by Ozzy that Carey didn't have as stellar a game against the Steelers. I haven't gotten to evaluate yet. I figured he could have trouble with the read and recognition against the 3-4.

Now that I've seen Carey play LT though I want him there. You put your best OL at LT, period man. That's what I think. Some may not agree I do understand.

One thing I forgot was that I agree with you about McDonalDugal. He's been fairly solid in practices, but man has he stunk it up in games. So this move is surely by default, but also somewhat earned by Macintosh. He may not be the best lineman but the coaches might have both he and Carey graded out pretty close in pass protections. While Carey most likely grades out higher as a road grader. Plus now they move to positions that they've played before. Carey was a devastating run blocker for the Canes at RT in 2002 with over 40 pancake blocks, and allowed just 2 sacks all year.

Carey did not stink against the Steelers, but he did miss a couple of assignments. I happened to think that he would do better though. He practices against, almost the same type of defense everyday. But hey! I don't have a Tivo, so I'll take your word over mine once you've reviewed it.

I somewhat agree with you, except you can't always put your best lineman at Tackle is he is a short armed stubby Center. :D

I want the best Tackle on the left, which in this case is Carey, but I also really like the possibilities of him and Hadnot pancaking the doo doo out of people on the right. That's if Hadnot gets back to doing more of what he's capable of.

That does make sense, but on the flip side of the coin, would you or would you not consider it a breach of ethics to come onto the board and say that Damion McIntosh is starting at left tackle by default because Stockar McDougle is in the dog house and we have no viable backup RT to take over for McDougle other than St. Clair, who is currently competing for the starting RG position.

You could care less what we think of your client, but that does not make you likely to tell the truth either.

CK, there's always a combination of reasons why coaches make changes along the offensive line. Obviously McDougle's play has been a part of it. Also, there's no guarantee that the coaches are going to stick with this rotation. Make no mistake, I never claimed that McIntosh was the second coming of Anthony Munoz. I just said that he, like Vernon Carey, has played extremely well this preseason, and the Fins are trying to figure out a way to get their two hottest linemen on the field together.

By the way, I'm happy that you didn't take offense to my last post and understood that I was simply explaining that my motivation for being here isn't to change anybody's mind about anything.
