McIntosh and the O-line shakeup...

As long as Damion can lose his nickname from last year ( False Startintosh ) he should help us out.

Imagine facing NFL defensive linemen when you're not close to healthy and tell me how you think it would affect the mental part of your game.

the thing that struck me about v.c. on the left side of the line was that it made me feel a little better about giving away the 4th for a potential starting l.t. - granted i want the 5 best players on field and if that means moving vernon over to r.t. then so be it - but it did feel better...

You know this seems pretty rude to me. If you could careless what we think why bother even posting here? You don't have to agree with everyone, but at least show a little more respect towards the other members here.

As a fellow football fan and member of FinHeaven I DO value everybody's opinion. As an agent however, I want to make it clear that my motivation for being here isn't to spew propaganda or change anybody's mind about anything (because it doesn't help my player's cause one way or the other). I've been here for years and have taken a great deal of my time to answer hundreds of people's questions. If that's not showing respect, I don't know what is.

Yup but this goes back to his San Diego days to. It's not just because of the injury. It's something he needs to control and if he starts doing that with Saban around you just know he's going to ride his rear.

This is a good point. The LT position justified Carey's salary and the trade of the 4th to get him. The RT position doesn't do that as much. I read where McIntosh was taking snaps in camp at RT with the 2nd team -- wonder why they didn't put him at RT and leave Carey at LT? Brett?

Im with CK I dont think this move was made to "Upgrade" LT it was made because of Mcdougles play.. Vernon has been solid even dominant at times.

I agree, but if Carey is playing so well, seemingly solving the LT problem we've had for a while now, why couldn't McIntosh move to RT?

Can't Dmac play RT?

I just think Carey has been moved around more than enough for a young O-lineman, he needs to settle in at a position and master it.

Very true Brett, Lets hope DMac gets it done this year.

Wasn't he also injured that last year in San Diego?, San Diego fans dump on him alot as a turmstile.

One quick point,

A right handed QB, the LT is of prime importance.
A left handed QB, the RT is of prime importance.

Imo the reason is, that Carey was a beast at RT for the Canes and Dmac has solid to serviceble NFL experiance at LT.

It's not bias. Go back and watch your tapes from the last two games and tell me how you grade McIntosh's performance.

See thats the problem for me, although I tried, with the NFL network doing pre-season games it has really become hard to see these pre-season games if your not in the South Florida market.

Its good to hear he is healthy and played well these last two games, I appreciate your post.

Well, if Dmac is healthy now and a different player than he was last year, that would make a lot of sense.

I actually think were all going to be surprised at how well this team plays against Tampa, I'm expecting a big performance.

The good thing about this move is that Carey will probably feel a sense of relief moving to a position he's played well at before, rather than playing one of the toughest positions in football, and McIntosh has a lot to prove at LT after his play last year, so we get two guys on the line whose minds are in the right place (unlike McDougle's). Had the team started Carey at RT, he wouldn't feel the sense of relief of moving to a new position having already done well at a more difficult one. In other words, Carey is probably thinking, "hell, if I can play left tackle well, I KNOW I can play right tackle." I don't know if he was even thinking he could play RIGHT tackle well in the NFL before camp.

After people were jumping to call him a bust all last year, it is kind of funny seeing people stick up for VC to the point of calling out our agent friend. Mind you, I don't support that behavior at all -- I'm not saying I think everything Brett says is gold, but he has no need to go BSing us here. I'm not suggesting that he would have been on here talking crap about a client, but he definitely has the option of not putting his every thought about the Dolphins out here on this board. He's excited for his client and felt like sharing. It's a nice thing if you ask me.
Some people are just too anxious to prove they know more than an agent........so it turns into a big pissing match when somebody like Brett tries to post here.....It happens all the time when journalists try to post here....The giant egos come out and see it as an opportunity to prove themselves.....Of course, they never realize how transparent they are and most of them never even realize that they are not getting their intended result either....

CK, there's always a combination of reasons why coaches make changes along the offensive line. Obviously McDougle's play has been a part of it. Also, there's no guarantee that the coaches are going to stick with this rotation. Make no mistake, I never claimed that McIntosh was the second coming of Anthony Munoz. I just said that he, like Vernon Carey, has played extremely well this preseason, and the Fins are trying to figure out a way to get their two hottest linemen on the field together.

By the way, I'm happy that you didn't take offense to my last post and understood that I was simply explaining that my motivation for being here isn't to change anybody's mind about anything.

And I for one believe you, though I know you don't care:evil: (J/K).

I took your post the same way I would from any other fan, because I believe you are one, and that you were just trying to pass along some information and your thoughts.
