Merged 3x:Taylor extends deal 3 more years!!!!/thru 2009/new contract

The way we keep on pushing those contracts, one year soon we'll need a roster of 30 players only cos we won't be able to afford the whole team once all the bonuses kick in at once...lol

Ozxzy rules

nah....we'll trade them when they get to the end of their contracts to some team who will pick it up or else renegotiate their contract then.....

....but your point does make you think.......

Why? I heard they are among the lowest in the league or at worst around average. I wouldn't be complaining about ticket prices.

Simply a joke is all. The point being they are restructuring everyone and everything, why not ticket prices? Just a joke is all. :)

Exactly. Unlike baseball, football contracts are not guaranteed. There will be a point where they will ask him to take a pay cut or he will be released and Miami won't owe him a penny. That's why these guys demand huge signing bonuses.

You know, this practically guarantees that O-Gun is going bye-bye. :www:

We better pay up for Ogun cause JT and Zach are only good for another 2 maybe 3 years at the most. It certainly wouldnt hurt to have 2 of the best DE's in the league. At one point IMO Madison and Surtain were 2 of the best cornerbacks in the league. They both need to take a paycut to keep Ogun.

You're right, football salaries aren't guaranteed but bonus money is dead cap space and will be always be there. And usually whenever a quality player restructures to help cap space a big bonus is involved...more dead money for someone who already has 2.5 per year.

both Taylor and Thomas better be able to play for at least 4 more seasons at a high level because theu each have a TON of amortization.

Team anxious to create cap space

Hmmm.......came together quickly.

All Miami did is guarantee most of his salary in 2004 and add 3 yrs to the deal to spread out the signing bonus. They did the same thing with Mare. They now have added nearly $6 million of amortization (i.e. cap space) to 2005 that cannot be changed.

they merely did a "simple restructure" and desperate teams use this often

Hey Clump if Seau were to re-structure and then re-tire next year would there be a charge to the Miami cap?
