Also possible the Fins are looking to extend McMike and pay some salary now.
 
Where is the depth at the oline?Id like us to sign guard Anthony Clement or Geir Gudmundsen.The bills oline coach mcnally recruited this guy and we know hes 1 of the best oline coaches.Now we gotta get rid of mckinney and sign Jason Ball he must be healed up already.

That might not be such a bad idea.

they could use the pending off -field problems as leverage against paying him top TE money.

Lock him into a top 5 contract and we can save the Franchise tag for another player next year.

Nope... His salary was 1.1 million, he wasn't on the roster for the first game so he gets squat, and we recailm all of that. His bonus of 300k is what we absorb this year. Check out the cap page on dead cap after 6/1

it could be.

lock him up before his value goes up even more after this season.
 
Has any position seen more juggling than TE this year? That should tell you how serious they are about paying McMike a big payday. IMO they are looking for more all around TE's for the future unless McMike has an all world year catching the ball. Unless he has a 70+ catch year and breaks out I don't see him back next year.

I'm shocked ho many roster changes we have had since the last preseason game. Saban said in his PC before he announced the cuts down to 53 that he wished he could keep them all because they played hard and competed. His strength is supposed to be talent evaluation so let's hope he has sized up our guys through camp and realized what ones won't cut it for us to get to the next level. That's alot of change though - he wasn't kidding when he said he was disappointed with how the 2nd and 3rd teams competed this preseason.
 
I hated John St Clair.. really dont rate him, at all.

Pleased if he has been released.

Beat me to it. WOW. Last year supposedly grading out as our top lineman to being released this year... Even more proof that Wise and Wanny had ZERO idea of what they were doing.

Joe Berger is an offensive tackle drafted out of Michigan Tech this year in the 6th round by the Carolina Panthers. I'm guessing they stuffed him on the practice squad, we made an offer of an active roster spot, and the Panthers didn't have the space on the roster to keep him so he came to us.

It's like another draft pick for us, we probably had our eye on him along with Alabi.

Um...exactly...I never thought that Glenn was cut...so what's going on?

We signed that corner from Jax the other day but they did not release who who's roster spot he took...could that have been Glenn's spot?

so Eckel is ours, we own his rights, but he is not on the 53 man roster.

St Clair has gone :woot:

Berger is now on the 53 man roster, along with Kiwaukee Thomas.
 
So let me get this right. We released St.Clair, We signed Berger and Thomas(finally) and Eckel was called for duty, but we still own his rights and he doesn't count on the 53 man roster. Is that corrected?
 
Whenever we looked at reports from our great training camp reporters I never noticed any news about St Clair.I made some reference to it in their threads.He was our most consistent OL last year.Its one thing to be demoted but its another thing not to be mentioned and he disappeared this year.


He may be one of those players Saban referred to when he talked about players who would not get with the program.
