merged 9x: Davey released/The real deal on Davey

sure why not? we already have a bunch of backup/3rd stringers. what's one more gonna hurt....

what i don't understand is the fact this guy gets beat out by a 7th round rookie on a team where i think it's safe to say they know QBs, and you guys wanna bring him here lol. what a joke.

Lineham may be interested in him because of some of his Culpepper-like qualities.I would prefer him to Berlin in any case.

However it may be late for him to be of any help this year.

Acutally Crunch, I think he's closer to Leftwich (sp?) than Culpepper. Davey moves at the speed of glass.

only if they cut Sage and Berlin, we don't need 5 QB's on the roster, I don't care how bad they all are...

Rohan Davie released today

I just read Davie was released from the Pats. What do you guys think?

theres already 2 threads that got merged because of this, maybe you should have searched before posting. In terms of your post, I think we should bring him in. Cant be any worse than the 4 we have rite now!

Yes.That is a better comparison but I was just trying to make people think of another possible reason for interest in Davey besides the typical "Davey played for Saban" reason.Culpepper is a much better athlete no doubt but it occured to me that Linehan might be interested in someone who can get the ball to a burner such as Boston in Culpepper-to-Moss type fashion.

Fin fans Davey released

Davey, a fourth-round draft pick out of LSU in 2002, became expendable with the offseason signing of Doug Flutie and the emergence of rookie Matt Cassel during training camp. In three seasons, Davey played in seven games, completing 8-for-19 passes for 88 yards.

Cobbs, a rookie last year out of Arkansas, played in four games, rushing 22 times for 50 yards. He began the 2004 season on the physically unable to perform list and was on the 53-man roster for the final 10 regular-season games and all three playoff games.

You are right on the money there. Our current deep passing game cannot be described using the term "threat" at all.

there is no reason to keep 5 or 6 QBs. get real. gus is are starter aj is improving and moving along in the system, but otherwise no one else on the roster (berlin/rosefels) have shown any potential or upside. did yall see what berlin did at the U with all the talent and speed they have down there with that line, what makes anyone think he can do anyhjting for our fins...cut him, sign rohan davey. and please no one mention couch again that is just a slap in the face to any dolphin fan to think we would sign that piece of sh*t. rosenfels is going to always be our third stringer so we can keep him there i dont even feel like bothering him. But couch... I would take a chance with cokehead Qunicy Carter if we are looking for free agent QBs to throw in the game.

and this season's qb positioning is over anyway unless are season is a disaster and davey gets thrown in there in week 9. gus will start bc linehan loves him and aj will be backup. we will draft our qb in next years draft and he will be a top 3 qb prospect in the draft bc no one will be taking them (like aaron rodgers) we can pick up vince young or chris leak (not omar jacobs..please) at about pick 16 which is about where we will be picking. Then the QB headache will end forever bc both those guys will be the real deal as soon as hudsonhauck gets the line together which will be next season as well

Here's to trading Sage Rosenfels to the Bears or Raiders for some scrap metal, and signing Rohan Davey.
