If we cut Sage and Berlin, then in 3 years we will only have Davey and Berlin. This team NEEDS a QB more than anything, so id honestly say keep/sign all 6 of them, and they can all learn from each other. Therefore by the end of NEXT YEARS' camp, we know who's best. (Probably Couch) ...sorry that may have sounded confusing.

I saw Davey in NFLE a couple of years ago. He has a gun for an arm. He probably got cut because of salary cap issues. Cassel (sp?) was much cheaper than him. He would be a better developmental qb than sage or brock.
 
Davey was a 4th rounder, so his contract probably isnt very big. He was a rookie in 2002, so he probably has 2 years left on his contract. When dont have to sign him, we only have to claim him. Its not like he's a FA, where he can sign anywhere he wants
 
Davey Cut

I haven't been on the boards much today so pardon me if this has already been posted. Now that Rohan Davey has officially been cut by the Pats what do you think the odds are Nick will bring him to town for a look? I'm guessing there is a good 75% chance he will be in town by the end of the week.

BB is a pretty good judge of talent. Do you suppose he missed something or are we so bad that you think he can get a job here anyway?

If he can't play for last year's champions then he sure as hell can't play for one of last year's worst?

that doesnt make sense, but if he was worth anything, bill b wouldnt have outright released him, allowing him at least a chance to catch on with saban in his division
 
he cant even beat out a third stringer who was a backup his whole career in USC...but yet you all still want him..LOL

I thought it was Matt Mauck he won a Co-National Championship with.
 
Belichick isnt very fond of a QB that tries to improvise with his feet too much, he wants them to stay in the pocket if at all possible. I think Davey liked to move around too much for him, plus, he had his project in Cassel. Bill was not very happy in the first game that Matt played in. He was scrambling all around, and thats not a quality that BB has high on his list.

Davey is mobile, which behind a line like ours is a very good thing. He has a big arm, bigger than anybody on this team currently, yes even more than AJ. People constantly say we have all backups on this team, what difference would he make? He may not start, but in no way does it hurt to claim him, and see what he's got.

He's the same age as Sage, and honestly brings more to the table physically. He's big, he's tough, he's a chore to tackle.
