merged 9x: Davey released/The real deal on Davey

lol@being hated..he doesnt even care what pple say about the way he dresses, i doubt he cares about who he would keep and cut

I dont think he would have been hated. But alot of fans are psyched to see flutie come in and work his magic for the hometown crowd. Alot of fans would have been very dissapointed. Flutie can still play and is best when he comes in on the fly.

please enlighten me then ol' wise one...

1) Look at the post two posts above yours, for one.
2) I'm sure you also know that Saban personally recommended that Belichick draft Rohan.
3) Rohan fits that model that Linehan built the successful Vikes offense around. A big mobile QB with a strong arm.
4) But, most relevant, is the style that Rohan plays. It does not fit into the pocket passer model that Belichick likes.

It's not about being 'wise'. It's more about considering at all of the facts before making a statement.

i'll say again..if you can not beat out a qb who was a back up his whole college career for the 3rd string spot, thats a bad sign

I can't think of a team thats in greater need at the QB position than our Dolphins except maybe the Bears.

We would have first shot at him after the Niners on the wire, I'm not sure what kind of contract he was under with the Pats.

Seems that the Bears may have answered their QB problems with Orton but it seemed like they had with Grossman too.

Say NO to Rohan

Ok you guys/girls... At the moment we have 2 career backups going at it to be our starter. To be honest with you, I think its senseless to bring in another one. Im not really sure why everybody is getting so excited about this guy. Ok he played for Saban at LSU, but so did a couple hundred other guys and nobody is talking about any of them. Personally I think we have a damn good quarterback in Sage. I think If given a fair shot, Sage could unseat Feeley or Frerotte...but then again I dont thats really hard to do the way they have been playin all pre season. What do you guys think??

Again, you need to get your facts straight before making statements:

Casssel has been a jack-of-all-trades for the Trojans during his career. The versatile Cassel, who was USC's second-string quarterback earlier in his career and who also had several stints at tight end, switched back to quarterback prior to 2004 fall camp and backed up Matt Leinart there as a senior in 2004. He also played some on special teams.

Tucker I would like to give you your very own Dee Dee Dee award!!! A backup his whole career, do you even know who Cassels backed up?!?!? Lets see what were those guys names.......Oh yeah Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. Wait .....I know theres something Im forgetting.......Oh yeah they BOTH HAVE HEISMAN AWARDS!!! To detract from a guy because he couldnt supplant 2 Heisman winners gets you the Dee Dee Dee award of the day!

Sage is a damn good QB yet SEVERAL coaches and GMs have yet to give him an opportunity to be a starter? If he was "damn good" as you say, someone would have made him starter by now..

I think he would have just as much to add as Sage talent wise and he knows NE's playbook and tendancy's. That to me is very valuable.

I agree.. The only htink I can think of though is that Rohan has some familiarity and success with Saban, and he has been in the league less and only been behind a future HOFer.. Whereas, Sage was behind Jay Fiedler for years.. Thats a bit of a difference to me.

Well I've been waiting to see how this kid reacts by getting out of New England. He's better than anything we have, and there's absolutely no risk.

I'd love to pick him up. And remember the one time he was able to get out of New England, he tore up the NFL Europe, to the tune of MVP. No QB on our roster could have done that.

Not to mention how sweet it would be to see Saban/Linehan and company be successful where the Patriots failed.
