merged 9x: Davey released/The real deal on Davey

Why would the Pats draft a QB this past year if they felt Davey had a real shot of starting in this league? I'm not saying he can't start in this league (or that he can for that matter) but what does it say about Davey if he was beat out of the 3rd string QB job by a draft pick?

Before his release, wasn't Davey the 4th string Qb in New England this preseason?

You can't teach poise. You can teach mechanics and technique but you can't teach poise and instinct.

Regardless.. and I said this 3 weeks ago... it was more politics than anything else added to the fact that he didn't mold into the QB Belichick wanted and/or Davey was sick of being a backup..

Some people don't like to play second fiddle when they've been starters their whole lives. Especially when they are playing second fiddle to the one and only Tom Brady..Think outside of the box.
 
All I know about Davey is that he was ridiculously, ridiculously good in NFL Europe. The best Qb there by far, and he demolished his opponents.

I really have no idea how this translates to the NFL, but I think it's a positive at least that he got that experience under his belt.
 
people think Mencia is funny? That show is horrible. It's called taste, acquire some.

I think Nick may get Rohan. He likes his LSU players.

NFL Europe is not a good Barometer of how well a QB will do in the NFL as djfresh has pointed out.. but the success and experience he has had is a plus, at least.

In this case though.. The fact that Rohan is so physically gifted, it makes it all the worth while for us to give him a shot, especially in a Linehan offense with 2 all-pro RBs.

Davey will have the weapons (that's for damn sure) and he just might have the ammo that the phins need.

Why do you say that?

The phins have 1 LSU guy on the roster.
