To compare RW & TO is comparing apples & oranges.FaninPatsyLand said:I hate TO as much as the next guy, but don't we sound a tad bit hypocritical?
TO goes out in the Super Bowl on ONE leg after signing a waiver and sacrifices his body, risking further injury.. because he knows it gives his TEAM the best chance to win. He's not a team player, but on the other hand...
...you have Ricky Williams, who flat out QUITS on his team at the worst possible time in the offseason, leaving them basically dead in the water. Yet Ricky is the team player and Owens is a selfish POS? (TO is, just for different reasons)
I completely disagree.
RW is not just a back up RB. Back up RBs do not carry the ball 17 times.djfresh47 said:Having good depth at the running back position is important, but really Owens is a far superior player than Ricky Wililams right now. Green Bay did have solid depth at running back but Davenport and Green both went down as did Javon Walker, but even with them in they were not producing. Look at Culpepper he had one of the best years ever for a QB last year loses an elite wideout in Moss and looks terrible. RW probably is more valuable because TO will most likely never be a Dolphin, but if he did become a Dolphin there is no way a backup running back is more valuable than one of the top 3 wideouts in the league.
You could not have missed my point anymore had you tried to miss it.djfresh47 said:So because a guy may have a higher vertical he is a better player? Chris Chambers is not an elite wideout, he would not be a #1 option on most teams, while Owens would be on basically every team in the league.
FaninPatsyLand said:I'll blame it on Ricky. He's a big boy and knew what he was doing. He screwed this team over badly last year. To say any different is asinine.
Don't forget the SB was the only playoff game he played in and the Eagles got there without him and for the most part of the SB he was crying and causing problems on the sidelines which might have contributed to the loss.Dphins4me said:To compare RW & TO is comparing apples & oranges.
Yes, TO went out & played in the SB. He got something out of it also. He got to play on the big stage & have everyone talk about what he was doing.
He got something out of playing. Don't fool yourself into thinking he did it soley for the team.
What RW did was wrong, but lets take notice. Other players have retire on the eve of camp. Two starters did so this year, Ted Johnson for the Pat & Meadows for the Panthers. So what RW did is not something that others have not also done.

I am not joking on this matter and mean it from the bottom of my heart. I love football it is a passion and the greatest sport in the world. I love my Dolphins and stick with them through thick and thin but if TO was to be a Dolphin doing anything besides playing with his pom poms I would hang up my colors and not watch any NFL football till he was off the team. He is a discrace and represents evrything a football player should'nt be. I use to think that I hated Deion but I never really knew what hate was before that TO POS came along. Please don't think I'm a fairweather fan because I would'nt never pull for anyone other than my Dolphins and it would be one of the hardest things I have ever done but I don't want to see him tarnish my team which he will. He had SF send Jerry packing and make him their franchise player SF is at the bottom because of him so he cries and goes to Philly. Philly is a annual contender but it looks like their on the way to see SF if they let him come back. In all my years of playing ball on any team elementary through semi-pro if the management or coaches brought him back after doing and saying the things he said he would be the only player on it.byroan said:I'd take T.O...I'd love to see how many people on here get pissed because of us getting him. Just imagine the threads and the posts. You think the posts after a loss are bad?![]()
