Taking the off-field issues aside for the moment, T.O. is the only available player through the draft or through free agency that, in my estimation, could significantly impact our passing game and therefore our total offensive efficiency. Nobody else out there could impact those things in any serious way in 2006. Offense takes time to build, it isn't acquired. The two positions you can acquire that will result in immediate boosts on offense in my estimation are RB and WR, so long as you understand that there are very few TRUE impact WRs out there and most of them have gotten to where they are through the offense and chemistry they've developed wherever they were last. As such, there's no guarantee that say, a Reggie Wayne would have even any impact on the offense any more than Marty Booker did. T.O. is one of those few WRs that are true impact WRs and didn't get to where they are through chemistry and system but because of pure talent.

When evaluating the cost/benefit situation, people should keep in mind those benefits. I won't weigh in on the costs...because far too many people tend to take the whole situation far too personally or feel too strongly one way or the other.

While I agree with your concept...I have to remind you even T.O. would have to have someone that can throw him the football.

if T.O blows up he can kiss his NFL career goodbye

so he wont he isnt stupid, just a jackass

I dont know, he hasnt done much to make me think he is rocket scientist. I think a lot of thing get out his mouth befor he realy think about it. Its possible he will reform himself enough to not be a huge distraction but whatever team he goes to will have their fans holding there breath for as long as he is there.

i DONT think putting T.O. with Keyshawn Johnson is a good idea..

aside from that....why is Owens gonna cost a lot of money??? Nobody really wants him...why would ANYONE pay big bucks for him??? If T.O. comes here, it SHOULD be for cheap...i dont think anyone wants to risk his mouth too much. Aside from that....if he doesnt go to Miami, he could end up in Chicago maybe?? The Bears have a rock solid defense, they just need some offense. He could be the answer to a BETTER offense for Chicago

T.O.'s talent is undeniable and he would be a great addition to the Dolphins.

BUT.....

If he's not happy with Jeff Garcia in his prime, and he's not happy with Donovan McNabb, how could he possibly be happy with the Dolphins' QB situation?? I just don't see it happening.

Yup good point. It's the QB situation that is the barrier, IMO.
I personallly see no downside, football-wise, to signing him as long as saban is coach. he'll have a close to minimum base loaded with incentives. If he does his job, fine. If he doesn't and opens his mouth, well, that's fine too. We'll dump him and be no worse off then where we started.
We all know drew's ties to south fla. and no doubt he'll put the fins on TO's go-to list. But TO, playing for incentives, might now be keen on a low-production QB or a rookie, depending on the rookie of course.

You have to remember that the talking heads at ESPN have to have things to fill air time. This could be no more than a not very well thoughtout opinion without any inside information at all. Its not like ESPN sets a realy high bar for itself all the time.

If we get T.O I say draft Vince Young, or Omar Jacobs and let them start they both have great arms to throw the deep ball

I'm not sure getting the ball thrown to you by Rex Grossman will be any more enticing than whoever Mia brings in next year. I think he'll look at Mia, but in the end, will stick with Den, because he'll need production out of the QB position to get paid himself.

If Garcia can go to the Pro-Bowl with TO just about any QB can. Not that I support TO coming here I equally do not support your constant irrational Gus bashing!

I always liked Jacobs but isnt his stock dropping? Havent heard much about him in awhile. Maybe we could snag him late during day 1 ala CHICAGO and Kyle Orton? :)

TO in Miami would be a nightmare if we do not have a decent QB.
He'd be a nightmare even if he had a QB.I don't want that jerk here...he's trouble no matter where he goes or who he plays with.I can already see it.
TO-"Hey Nick, why don't you stop running Ronnie Brown and just trow me the ball on everydown"?
No thanks!!

Ozzy rules!!

Plummer is an up and down QB just because he is doin great this year doesnt mean next year is 4 sure

I dont see how his stock could drop look at his #'s

71 TD's and 11 INT's

Ill take a QB w those numbers any day

Id like to snag him early second round...

I mean havent heard many predictions about us drafting him, as opposed to earlier this year. Still, I like his potential.

You should know the pro-bowl is mostly a beauty contest....do you really think Garcia is a great QB?....Perhaps a one year wonder. As Far bashing Gus...just stating the obvious facts...if thats bashing to you....you really must hate reading it everywhere you look...I'm certainly not the only fan that thinks that Gus isn't the QB for the Dolphins future. Irrational....
