Id have to disagree with anyone who thinks that TO would be a horrible fit here. For the simple fact that next year, IMO, he will be quiet as a mouse. He's going to want to prove all the naysayers wrong that he's a 'cancer'.
If we were to give him an incentive-laden contract then he would demand the ball. But on any given Sunday I would rather throw TO the ball 30 times in a game, then depend on Chambers to 'show up' mentally.
And he wouldnt break a QB. He would prop him up. He would give him a big fast target that knows how to catch the ball. He propped up Jeff Garcia, he gave McNabb the best career year he'd ever had.
Chambers would all of a sudden look like the second coming of Paul Warfield because he'd be so open to catch anything because every defender would be concentrating on TO.
Look, we already have a talking head in McMichaels who complains that the Fins dont get him the ball enough. TO complains, but when the ball is thrown his way 9 out of 10 times hes going to come down with it. And you wont see him pouting on the ground banging the ground with his hands throwing a tantrum. Youd see Owens jawing at a rookie QB because he wants to make the offense better by giving the ball to the best WR we'd have.
Owens down here, if only for a year, would help us in more ways than one.
