The Good
*From a thread about MIA being picked to beat ATL this weekend.
"I think you all are failing to see the connection here. You see, the Phins won the AFC East, the media's crowned "toughest division in football." They (the media) have to explain how Miami beat the Patriots last year, so saying Atlanta wins this game would be counter-intuitive to their "the Patriots are the greatest team on Earth" line of thinking. Especially those at ESPN."
"It goes like this: New England is the best, but Miami must be great since they beat NE last year. Therefore, there's no way Miami can lose to the lowly Falcons."
The Bad
"Not scared of the Dolphins. There are a lot of teams I wouldn't look forward to playing this year, but the Dolphins certainly aren't one of them. Although I think Sean Smith will be good."
*From a thread about a recent article about Miami players and stopping the run
"I respect Sparano, I really do, and personally I think Parcells gets way too much credit for the turnaround that Miami had last year but there is no way, no way in hades that you would hear Falcons players talking like this about Miami players. Crowder has about as much chance of single-handedly taking Turner down as I do and I hope his need to prove that "HE'S A MAAAAN!" causes him to try it a few times. I would think this was all in jest except he kept bringing it up and you could almost feel his eyes rolling with disrespect for Turner."
*From A thread about joey porters recent interview.
"lol. Joey Porter is funny. Do you think he'll ever learn to stop writing checks his PLAY can't cash?"
"Porter has always ran his mouth, and hardly ever backs it up. With Ovie and Turner, and our nasty O Line, I'd say Porter will be on his back for the better part of Sunday afternoon"
The Ugly
"Going to get back to last year's traditions. **** the dolphins, and their happy ending giving running back. **** their sorry *** qb who became NFL comeback player of the year twice. How the **** are you so bad twice that you can be comeback player of the year. TWICE. **** that loudmouth Porter, and all that weak *** miami defense. **** the fins!!!"
"dolphins are not that good and were lucky to make the playoffs last year.."
"ronnie brown is just as good as his teammate in college........................................... not very"
I find it interesting that members of our board -while being fiesty at times- almost never say that ATL sucks or things of that nature. Their message board seems to flow from talking crap, while ours seems to be more about how our fans see us exploiting their weakness's and/or overcoming our shortcomings.
they like everyone (including ourselves) cant get enough of bashing the wildcat. I think the sheer fact that the wildcat is so annoying to everyone means it may be more than a fad.
other favorite topics for them to bash are
1. Ronnie Brown
2. last years weak pass defense
3. last years season being a fluke because of the wildcat, our schedule and luck
