Only on this message board is Philip Buchanon worth more than Patrick Surtain.

Could you perhaps contain your whining to the thread dedicated to it?

Only on this message board do I find people who think Rick Spielman did a good job last year (check other thread).

I usually agree with you KB. But on this one with Surtain/Buchanon I part company.

No.

In reality it was in the NFL among the 32 teams. That's where the value was placed. We are just talking about it. ;)

Yep. That's because we all now know that Buchanon is the better player.

No, but we all know you can't seem to grasp the complex skill of reading other people's posts. If you could, you'd actually deal with their arguments.

I can't believe they actually traded away the best corner in the NFL, for draft picks. With Pat at least you knew they weren't passing to one side of the field, now you have to worry about both, and no Sammy Knight. It's a disaster if you ask me. To add to that Sabin will end up relying on a rookie RB, and maybe QB to win him games. And a hole has been split so wide open in our secondary that every QB in the leage smiled when the trade went down. then we coun't on Will Poole, who is good but not that good. And IMO he seems a little slow.

It's enough to make someone become a Chiefs fan, well not really but almost.

We will not be that good next year anyway baring a miracle, and pat would have been out of here after next year so at least we got a second round pick for him as opposed to nothing. And the second round pick will be here when we finally get good. It's a good move, maybe not for next year but for 2 or three years downs the road. We are still a few players away on offense and we will not get them all in this draft. Tihs was a good move sir.

Very disappointed in this trade. We are practically giving a top 5 NFL cornerback away in this trade. Something is bad wrong when Philip Buchanan draws more in a trade than Patrick Surtain.

Phillip is 23 pat is 30 thats a 7 year difference. pat cost 10 million in signing bonus phillip cost nothing in signing bonus money. Phillip has the potential to be just as good as pat is, (remember him at um?). This is why a GM would pay more for phillip than pat. It makes perfect sense

It's not too difficult to know that your stance is wrong, therefore I don't pay any attention to your side of the argument. You are wrong. That's the bottom line.

No, that's your baseless assertion. I've given you several reasons for my position, you've given none.

I've already explained why I think his value was higher. What's your take?

All the teams in the NFL knew Surtain was available and they knew the price. The price was "a first day pick". Judging from the swap in the 5th round, I would surmise that we couldn't even get a low 3rd offer from anybody.

So what is the guys value if you could only pry a second/5th swap from a team that was desperate? Obviously the plentiful were not stepping up.

And obviously the coach/gm had no plans of signing this player long term.

His take is that "You're wrong you're wrong you're wrong! I don't have to listen to you! LALALALALALA! I'm covering my ears..."

as much i as hate for Surtain to go. he was one of my favorites on D but we had to get younger & he had a huge cap hit. i wish the man the best of luck & woot for the 2nd we got. thank god its over.

so who should we pick with the 2nd?

Ok trade because we pick up a 2nd rounder but I can't see how anyone would call it great to get rid of a top CB and get a 2nd round pick and basically trading out of the 5th round. Very good would have been the 2nd and 4th round picks talked about way back when. Great would have been a 1st and a 4th. This is merely ok, slightly better than a wash. Nothing to beat up the front office about but you don't want this trade at the top of your resume of great deals.
