MERGED: Breaking News - Surtain Traded to Chiefs

This is great news, I wish Surtain the best (unless he is playing the Fins), and for all who think we lost one of the top 3 corners in the league, WE DID! BUT please understand, we would have got nothing for him next year. If we were making a Super Bowl run this year, or had the cap space to sign him to an extension or even franchise him next year , we would have done so. This was a well thought out, intelligent move by this organization. We will all miss Surtain, but it is part of the business.
 
It's amazing, Buchanon is traded, for a 2 & 3, to a team that could have had Surtian for a 2, yet some people still argue that his "value" is less then Surtian's. Remember value is something much more then shear talent.
 
I guess all the people that say they're upset with this trade and feel like we "gave away" Surtain for "just a 2nd round pick" would have been more satisified saying goodbye to him next year for NO COMPENSATION. Would that have made you people feel better. That you would have at least been a part of a Surtain fairwell tour next season? Get real, we were NOT going to sign him to the money he wanted, and we would have watched him walk out the door with nothing in return next season. Get real!
 
Good news? How? The loss of Surtain IMO makes our team less talented. A 2nd round pick is good but Green Bay got a second for McKenzie and IMO Surtain is better then McKenzie is a lot better,
 
Thank You Pat for the nice memories and congrats on the BIG $$$ bling bling...you deserved a nice contract. Now lets make sure we do someting smart with our 2nd rounder. ALSO, how did a rookie beat all of you to the punch with the scoop about this trade??? :D Way to go rook and welcome aboard!
 
The Phins trade two second round picks for AJ Feely and get one second round pick for Patrick Surtain. I love the way this organization is heading.

Where the hell do you get your info. from? Must be the JiLLLLsZone...as far as I know...we only gave up 1 2nd round pick.

The funny thing is out of all the fans in the NFL...you should not say a damn thing...how did the trade for Bleedslow go? Yes...giving the Pats a first round pick for Bleedslow went well...look at all those playoff appreances...look at how great Bleedslow looked for you guys...so awesome that you just released him this offseason :roflmao:

By the way this is a good reason to not have gotten to much out of K.C.

That's rediculous for a guy soon to be on the wrong side of 30.

Hey...what do you expect...after losing 4 straight super bowls...we all need to cut these JiLLLLs fans some slack...funny how this beam character makes fun of the A.J. Feeley trade...granted he did not look great last season but who knows...just remind them about all those playoff appearences the JiLLLLs made with Bleedslow :lol: Oh and what did they give up to get him...only a 1st round pick :roflmao:

Not to mention what they gave up for the unproven Losman at this point. That's a lot of picks on QB's the last few years.
