Buchanon was also very cheap compared to Surtain. The chiefs are going to have to give Surtain a $10 Mil or more signing bonus. We made out OK, he would have been a free agent next year and we would have gotten nothing, there would have been no way to Franchise him.

Dude, your talking about a market situation that prohibits teams from getting a second rounder for neither of two of the leading rushers in the NFL.

Essentially we just had a franchise tag on Surtain. Saban didn't need him at that price tag. Saban didn't want him at that price tag.

Essentially we got a second round pick for a June 1st cap casualty.

Because Indy will want more than a 2nd rounder for Edge. Plus Edge has had some major knee injuries which scare me
 
Props to Saban for sticking to his guns.Is it only the 46th pick or does it have any other considerations invloved ?
 
I wonder which picks we swapped.

The Dolphins owned the 138th pick of the 5th round, while the Chiefs owned 11th (147) and 26th (162) picks. I hope it was only the 5th for 11th.

Sorry, I'm having a senior moment...it's Pat's knee that he has the trouble with? I know he has some kind of physical problem that's not going to get better. He can play with it, but it's only going to get worse.
 
they are saying we are trading 5th rd picks. Maybe we are getting both of the chiefs 5th rounders for our 5th. Did anyone think of that?

I've heard they would take a second rounder, period.
