If we had Wanny we would have kept Surtain. Lose him next year and got nothing for him. Then used our #2 pick to take a CB. Then waited till round 3 to take another CB incase the guy we took #2 overall didn't pan out!

Not that I would but if we moved our 2nd to Indy for James and drafted Edwards how would people fell about an offesense of Feeley, RB James, Chambers, Edwards and McMike. Would be fun to watch on Sunday till James got hurt atleast. GreenMonster
 
Again, KC has two 5th round picks. One is 9 spots lower. The other is 24 spots lower.

It's been a pleasure. If you recall, I told everyone on this board that some small piece would have to be thrown in to the mix so Carl Peterson can feel he "won" the negotiation process because of his ridiculous ego.

It's very fair for both sides. Thank god he's going to be a Chief.

Finally, the 2nd round pick and they don't have to cut anyone or guarantee any more money for older players. 2nd rounders are very cheap and usually quite talented. I'm for trading down til we've got about 7 of em.

You can only have so many high priced guys, regardless of talent. You build a champion through the draft with low priced players. Look at the redskins, they bring in big name guy after big name guy but two years later end up having to cut them or trade them elsewhere.

If the dolphins hadn't drafted Poole I would be quite upset right now but this truly is a great start to the weekend. It's nice to see Saban refuse to lower his demands also. The fifth round pick swap is a pittance.

we give up surtain
we give up 138th pick overall (5th round)

i heard there was a rumor we get a 6th pick if surtain makes the super bowl.

I totally agree, keeping an older corner that makes 8mil + on a team coming off a 4-12 season is a bad move. Getting a 2nd for him is the 1st step towards repairing some of the Wanny era moves. GreenMonster
