Merged: CJ Anderson Super Thread- Offer sheet decision today

As pointed out over at PFT(I know but these are numbers not idiotic Florio opinions)the Broncos were not willing to place a 2nd round tender on him that would have paid 2.5 million so you have to wonder if they want to pay him 4.5 per year now.

IF the Fins could replace Miller with Anderson and save 2 mill a year that would be a pretty strong move.

Manning was a master at running an offense. Shallow measures like statistics do not take his mental acuity into account, but I'll let the fantasy football and PFF pundits continue to wonder in disarray as to how he helped lead his side of the ball to another SB championship if they believe that garbage.

104 total yards, 0 TDs, and 1 INT in that game. I love Peyton, but his defense scored as many TDs in that game as his offense did. He's smart, an all-time top 5 QB, but he was not good last year. IMHO Denver wins that game just as easy with Osweiller at QB. Hand the ball off, don't turn it over, 3 and out... pick up a 2 point conversion late.

'Shallow measures like statistics' are what keep us from being in the playoffs every year.

He didn't play the full season. He was injured but he was a very capable QB and he won the Superbowl. Certainly not even close to the worst QB in the league. That is ridiculous.

I love Peyton, but the defense won that Superbowl as evidenced by the MVP. He's an all-time great but he was not good last year. Not even average.

Ask yourself this. Take our defense, and Peyton at QB with his stats from 2015, nothing else changes... Are we in the Superbowl last year? The playoffs even?

Broncos traded for former Eagles and Jets QB Mark Sanchez, as @MikeKlis reported. Broncos gave Eagles a conditional 7th round pick in 2017.

Looks like Denver can match the CJ deal ..

You think they're going from Manning to a starting Sanchez?

I am a strong believer in that defense wins championships. I had that SB nailed down pretty well in terms of predictions. But Manning is a master at defensive identification, play calls, check outs, audibles, etc. Fraudweiller can't read simple coverage's let alone navigate his way through a game.

You're certainly entitled to that opinion of statistics and any QB at he helm could have won. It might hold water like a colander, but you can have it.

That's what I'm saying, speculation much?! Last I checked Denver was in the market to replace TWO QB's. Sanchez is the high priced backup and they will either draft a QB in the 1st Round or trade for Kap.

I'm still very much hoping this adds to their cap crunch because a backup at $4.5 Million is expensive.

Well the options are starting to dwindle not sure who there signing as the starter at this point. They obviously need to draft a QB also one would assume.

Highly doubtful they match. Even if sanchez restructures down to say 3 million that brings them down to 14 million. Adding the 5 million from cj to match us, brings them down to 9 million. Signing their draft picks brings them down to 4-5 million. Most team dont go that low just in case of injuries not to mention you're going in to a season with sanchez as your roster.

It's certainly going to be hard for the Broncos to match for CJ. Is it possible? Absolutely. Probable? No way. They have to be nimble, work out some restructures and funky contract parameters with folks they want to resign, and thus REALLY want a player they refused to put a 2nd round tender on.

Anything is possible, but the first question out of my mouth if they do match will be, "HOW?"

I can't believe Denver would rely on Sanchez to be their starter though. I'm sure they are still in the sweepstakes for Kap and Fitz at least. The longer this takes the better the chance they don't match Anderson. One thing could be they will roll with Sanchez for now and try to move up in round 1 to grab the QB from Memphis. He's projected mid to late first round so a move up is doable for them. If they go this route then Denver would have the money to keep Anderson because of the low dollars slotted for a rookie QB.

Theres no way Sanchez is their solution to this whole issue. There's rumors going around they might use Sanchez as part of a trade for Kaep. I'd say its highly likely we have CJ Anderson as our starting RB next season. A downgrade from Miller, but not by much.
