Merged: CJ Anderson Super Thread- Offer sheet decision today

If Denver tagged him with 2nd round tender, his salary is set for 2016, right? Then he's a free agent in 2017. So maybe they don't want him making a fortune coming off a huge year in 2016 since Hillman won't be back. So they let some other team set his price in a long term deal. Miami did that. Now Denver needs to figure out if he's worth it.
If all the above is correct, not tendering him doesn't mean they don't want at any cost, right?

I mean in a sense, but the second round tender is only $1.687M guaranteed, I do believe. So it's practically nothing to Denver, but they either wanted him to go, or have someone so their dirty work in the negotiations. Second round tender means they were sold on keeping him.

Don't know if its been covered cuz Im at work

But what does Denver taking on Sanchez' contract do to their cap situation. Does it make them less likely to be able to match our CJ sheet?

Sanchez will be their $3.5M backup. They still want to add a starter, which makes them less probable to match, in my opinion. Schefter said they are after another QB.

I think you're reaching at the logic a bit. The right play was the higher tender if they wanted to keep him

Denver got Ware back cheaper. More money... but is it for RB or QB?

The money might be for another defender on their team that is pretty good.

DeMarcus Ware's restructured contract includes $2M upfront and the ability to make back his entire $10M salary in incentives.

When do we find out? I forget which day we signed him to the offer? Too lazy to look it up :)

How much cap room do they have after the Ware restructure and Sanchez trade? QB's are expensive period, and they still need a starter more importantly than retaining CJ.

Is Hillman restricted or unrestricted? They're probably better served keeping him for cheaper.

God I hope they don't match. He's perfect for this team in every way. The only other FA I like is Alfred Morris, and his health is concerning. If they match this may end up costing us the 13th pick basically
