Merged: CJ Anderson Super Thread- Offer sheet decision today

I believe Denver will match. They will do everything in their power to not let CJ Anderson leave. Otherwise why leave him waiting if they didn't want him?

They're entitled to take their time. You say you believe they will match but then I could ask you the same thing, why wait? I maintain they will not because it would look stupid on them for botching the qualifying offer. The low tender suggests they weren't inclined to keep him. They owe the Dolphins nothing so make them wait.

I hope they match. I'm probably in the minority, but I'd roll with Ajayi, Williams and find value at some point in the draft.

Taking CJ out of the equation for a minute, not really a big fan of Willimas. Think we could do better. What do you like about him? Honeslty dont want to see him on special teams ever again for one. He made some horrible decisions.

I don't rate Anderson TBH, he just isn't consistent. We have Ajayi as our power back. I hope he can be our three down back, but I don't know about break away speed. If we don't get Anderson, I won't be shattered.

Damien Williams blows. I'm not a fan of his. He was terrible returning kicks last yr

With all the needs we have I could live with Williams as our #2. He should only improve and is already solid in the passing game. Find a back later in the draft to compete as well.

Ok...I wont argue about that. But why with almost 40 mills of available money do you not try to keep a very good home grown talent here??? Miller also would have thrived here!

Totally agree. Miller is the one FA I'm kinda pissed we let get away. Sure he got paid for an RB but still relative chump change for a very good, no issues, reliable one of our own. I still think he probably did or would have taken less money to leave town.

I feel for you man.. If you think
Williams is a #2 then anything would be good for you. Based on last year, Ajayi is barely a #2 and definitely not a starter.. Williams "How many times can we fumble the ball"...

To slow w/e plans we may have.

Everytime we whiff on a good FA, let's just keep saying "we'll fix it in the draft" for every problem we have. Since most of the moves we've made are 1 year or 2 year rentals/stop gaps, let's see the current tally?

3 LBs
2 CBs
2 DEs
1 DT
2 OGs
1 Swing Tackle
1 RB
And a partridge in a pear tree.

That's 12 starters in 2 drafts. Not to mention holes we need to fill the upcoming season. Oh btw, when are we going to fix the OL? Letting this FO and these coaches pass on being ok with Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner is absolute stupidity.

The only strength we could possibly have this year is the offense. And we are going to once again rely on Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner to protect Tannehill?

Ross gave Gase 3 years. This is the master plan?

Believe what you want, rationalize how you may.... the ONLY thing we have accomplished is continued mediocrity.

If the answer is drafting, then why let Miller walk? This team drafted him and this team developed him. He was our product of drafting. If drafting is the answer, you keep him. Period.

If you want to see how to utilize Miller, watch how Houston makes him a contender for NFL Rushing Champ this year.

For all of those thinking we are going to find a RB (Miller) and OGs in the draft, exactly what rounds were you going to draft defense? You know, the obvious holes we had BEFORE FA started? The impactful FAs are signed. The only ones left are value vets and hole pluggers.

Here's the type of moves we could have been making: ILB Jerrell Freeman 3 years $12M, ILB Danny Trevathan 4 years $24.4M. For more money, we have Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso and gave up 5 drafts spots in the first round.

The draft debt we are creating is unfillable. Meanwhile, we are completing forgoing any chance to win now. Good luck on the 3 year Master Plan.

I'm sorry, this offseason is a complete trainwreck. Totally dependent on oft-injured players and players who have yet to deliver on potential.

Dallas Thomas lives again. And that's all you need to know about Offseason 2016.

This site is funny.

We're either preseason champs or the world as we know ut is ending

You can't please everyone

I wouldn't say I'm "thrilled" or "happy" with the free agency so far, but I believe these are overall the right moves. The Dolphins don't have enough money to make these splashes like they have been doing. I must say while I like Ndamukong Suh, his contract is going to be quite the hindrance to handle over the next few seasons.

I'd like to see what this new coaching staff can do with these players - all the praise we've heard about Adam Gase and Vance Joseph, their ability to coach to players' strengths - lets see if they can make it happen. I'm really interested in what their plans for the draft are - I could see multiple rookies starting on this team this season.

If Denver doesn't match Anderson's deal, that's the best move the Dolphins can make in free agency. I seriously doubt Denver is going to match, as they're still in the market for another QB, and they have Von Miller's gigantic extension looming.
