Merged: CJ Anderson Super Thread- Offer sheet decision today

I will have what this guys drinking

dude rex grossman has been to the playoffs. tannehill has not. TO stay ahead of the curve and block your upcoming argument, grossman was an important factor towards the bears making the postseason. Tannehill has been kind of close to actually making the playoffs. I feel like there are some people who want us to have a pro bowler at every position before they will unbiasedly evaluate tannehill

Grossmans the only reason the bears didnt win a lombardi

And that team was flat out loaded so if anything your pro bowler at every position applies more for rex

Since we're (inexplicably) on the subject, I remember Jason Taylor having an absolute field day against Rex Grossman during that 2006 game. Good stuff.

Using boringfin's logic, Brandon Weeden is better than Ryan Tannehill since he "helped" the Texans get to the playoffs last season

No...but Denver hardly had an elite line last year.

I would think you would be an outside observer that would acknowledge CJ as a more complete all around back...and certainly a tougher runner than Lamar Miller.

Point is that oline and scheme is a hell of a lot sounder than what we ran out there with and will run out there with personnel wise barring some it looks like now draft upgrades...

Andersons not taking lateral steps from the time he takes the hand off cause some guy who blows chunks blows his assignment...on repeat

Agreed...now, answer the question...who is the tougher runner, who is better at getting tough yards at crunch time?

Lamar is the speed, home run hitter....CJ is the grinder that wears down defenses when the game is on the line.

I wanted to keep Lamar....but I'll be happy with CJ, in fact...I see an upgrade.

Is it because Chicago got to the Super Bowl that year?
no its because grossman at times would make a game changing play. grossman is probably the definition of an avg to slightly above avg qb.. he could win you a game or two. our guy is a glorified game manager. anyone that says any different is biased or in denial or both

Home run hitter stuff is overrated...you need consistency more than anything else

But you are gonna have a hell of a time getting it if the oline sucks...barring a straight up boss scheme

What we get 3 home runs from lamar miller in 4 years? I wouldnt call that a home run hitter...he ran to more contact in the open field than he avoided

You do realize doncha that in the last 4 games in '14, Tannehill was sacked 18 times. So how 'bout for starters, an OL Tannehill can play behind without pissing blood the following day? And by your logic, Luck and Rivers must be detriments to their teams for coming up short too, eh? Especially Luck considering the division in which he plays.

Do you have specific games in mind that he won on his own? Or game changing plays?

Not something I'd recommend.

Grossman's Super Bowl year had him throwing 23 TDs and 20 INTs with a completion % of 54. Chicago gave up 255 points that year which was 3rd in the NFL and tops in the NFC.

I don't have Grossman's specific individual game stats up currently but I sincerely doubt he 'made a game changing play' or won the game on his own. Even if he had, let's not pretend like Tannehill hasn't had good games in his past.
