Merged: Could this game be Blacked Out?/What? Even opening day.

Rather than complain about if the game is gonna sell out, get off your lazy a$$ and buy a ticket.

This is one complaint I have always had with the NFL. Dolphin Stadium seats something like 80K. Now compare our stadium to some others (Bengals stadium for example has only 65K capacity) Now why do we both have to sell out when we have that much larger of a stadium? It should be you have to either sell out or at least to x % of a sell out. This is frustrating. Granted it is all because we have crappy fair weather fans down here, but argh.

I think it's admirable for the local companies/network to buy out the leftover tix, but it doesn't solve the long term trend of Dolphin fans being lazy and/or unpassionate. THe word 'bandwagon' even comes to mind sometimes - team is playing well, everyone shows up...I hate that.
This is obviously a general statement...most people on this forum are raving lunatics when it comes to their Fins! Still, we are only talking a few hundred people.

All I know is that sunday ticket will show the game regardless if it sells out, but to people outside the local area of south Florida. So Tampa, Orlando and anything north and in between should be good to go.

Everyone in sough Fla, should buy tickets, I guess many of them think this season is a lost cause already so they dont want to show up to see a possible loosing team, I know how south Fla fans are I've been through it and I used to be similar but not in the last few years.

Do you have yours?

the problem always goes back to the fact that we are playing in a city where it is a melting pot of fans, so a lot of people down here aren't dolphins fans. So why are they gonna buy tickets. I have season tickets, and will be at every game, but you cant do anything about the sellout. The dolphins have been trying really hard to sell the tickets, i get calls all the time b/c I bought tickets last year individually. And some people just like watching the game at home, for what reason i don't know. Some have families and with the ticket price, food, and parking it might be too expensive for them. So show your support if you are down here, and hopefully we put together a decent season to raise ticket sales....

its too hot i rather sit at home and watch the game on tv. But if its not on tv I guess I'll have to get of my *** and go get a ticket

No disrespect to anyone, but it's funny to me how the ones on here complaining about how bad miami based fans are, and how it's an "embarrassment" that we're not sold out are the ones from outside of miami. This is my opinion, but you shouldn't say anything if you're not down here to experience it, and see what the issues are first hand. You come down here and sit in those stands or should I say stand up in those stands while the opponent is on 3rd and goal, and the crowd is juiced up screaming their freaking heads off, and tell me we don't sell out games. This is freaking miami, not the middle of nowhere Wisconsin. We got beaches, the Marlins in a playoff race, and clubs going nuts 24/7. The packers sell out because what else would they do? Shoot their daddy's shotgun in the back yard. Come down here and experience everything that is miami for yourself, and see if you still think there is no reason that we don't sell out the momment they go on sale. On that note.....we will sell out, we always do, whether it be local tv or last minute fans. I have not seen a blackout in I don't know how many years, and it's not going to happen this year. Relax, and enjoy the ride.

On a side note, how nice was that, defending the city I love, and it being my 100th post, I didn't even notice until now. I want to thank you guys for being here in this glorious moment, and I also want to thank those of you responsible for making and maintaing this site to be by far the best Phins Fans site around.

There is nothing to be surprised at.We couldn't even sellout a playoff game.Look at our games-The stadium will be empty by the 3rd quarter. It will look like a baseball game going on.Now take a look at the packers-They sellout a preseason game. They pack the stadium and sit through an entire preseason game in the rain. The Dolphins need to look into what the Jags did and cover up most of the seats so that it is considered a sellout.

Let's see. Miami and Green Bay.

Beaches, women, food, shopping, swimming, tanning, and everything outdoors.
Sausages, snow, fat guys.

The Packers are all Green Bay has.
Miami has the Dolphins, Heat, Marlins, and Panthers

I can't believe I forgot to mention the women. Thank you Spurz for catching that obvious oversite, and probably number 1 on the list. You sound as if you know from experience, and I'm sure if some of these guys who are so dissapointed in miami would be singing a different tune if they had their hands on one our lovely ladies down here that wear way too tight and way too short clothes.
