This is a great move. We get rid of another headache and get a 2nd round pick in return. Nolan Carrol played great the other night. Im fine losing Vontae.

Remember when I first started hammering on Garrard and I said Chad Johnson was next on my list and Vontae was coming up behind him..... Well Ive got some bad news for Carlos Dansby...... NEXT!!!!

I LIKE the trade & I've been Vontae's biggest supporter around these parts. Smith has played much better so far in preseason, Nolan looked much better than he did at the end of the season too.

Where were we ranked last year in Passing Defense?

This was WITH Vontae Davis PLAYING. Getting a second rounder plus a compensatory pic isn't a bad deal.

For a guy that was not in our starting line-up...
We got a 2nd round pick, and I am sure that pick is going to be in the first 10 or so of the 2nd round.
PLUS Jason LaCanfora is saying it also includes a conditional late round pick...

According to the Miami Dolphins they received TWO draft picks from the Colts for Vontae Davis.

No faith whatsoever that Ireland will use this pick wisely...past 2nd round picks...Phillip Merling, Koa Misi, Pat White, Jonathan Martin, Sean Smith, certainly no one to write home about...

And everyone can stop with the idea that Irish is flipping the pick for a legit WR...NOT GOING TO HAPPEN...he learned from his mentor Bill Parcells, stockpile draft picks for cornfed lineman and unproductive edge-setters...Another terrible season, we have a never-ending rebuild...honestly Penny was the worst thing that could've happened to us, that one season gave Irish 9 Lives...

Can someone explain to me how this is us rebuilding?? Vontae is hardly the most senior player on the team. He's been in the league 4 years. Hes a young talented corner with tons of potential, and we've just got rid of him for a 2nd round pick which might not amount to anything.

Exactly...it's funny how people are saying "OK now we are rebuilding"...as if that particular trade was the cherry on top...

If anything, Vontae was still young and if we were rebulding, he should have been part of the rebuilding effort....this is a stupid move on Ireland's part.

Everybody who keeps pointing out that Davis wasn't a starter needs to realize Marshall is being picked on in games. It's not like we replaced him with a better more talented guy, we replaced him with a mature I guess more consistent (for better or worse) hard practicing guy. Hardly an upgrade.

Vontae was out 4 games. Idk why I have to keep telling people this..

He came back and looked good for the rest of the year.

Are you insane?lol have you been watching Vontae play? Seriously man? Who cares if he played well here and there....consistency is key and he was not consistent AND he was lazy.....bad combo imo!

That's what coaching is for.

A hard working guy that can't play... can't play. And never will be.
