If he is the 3rd cornerback on the team, is he better to trade and get value for or give him a big money deal? Still don't agree with the trade, but two years from now he might not have been re-signed anyways.

I do think that in the long run, this was a very good move if the picks are spent productively.

The problem is that I have no faith that the picks will be spent productively, and it definitely makes us worse now. And seeing as we're close to the start of the season, it's real hard to be excited for a team that appears to be throwing in the towel.

Man, this is going to be like that 1-15 year...

I agree with almost everything you said, but how does trading a guy who has been used exclusively in nickel situations since the start of camp qualify as throwing in the towel? U

I swear Im liking Philbin more and more each day. Its great to see a coach come in and clean this locker room up. All the bitching about how Philbin picks trash up off the practice field and wants the players to keep the locker room clean.... I think its great. Philbins new name............THE CUSTODIAN!!! He is getting all the trash and lazy bums out of our place.

Just watch, in time you will all learn to love Philbin. He is going to come in and completely change the culture of this place. Guys who are just here to collect a check or promote themselves are going to find themselves either out of work or on new teams.

I only hope someone will trade us something for Dansby now. If not, this is likely his last season in a phins uni unless he both raises his game and straightens out his attitude. He is clearly on thin ice right now.

That's 2 years from now though. I'd bet my weeks salary that even in 2 seasons a 26yr old Vontae Davis would still net you a 2nd rounder.
