I think that there is also a difference between 1.8 million and 400k. That is a lot of money to give up for a guy who hasn't made over 500k a year.

I would consider the deal with the Bears if the conditional pick in 2005 were structured thusly:
* 3rd round pick just for making the trade
* Bumped to 2nd round pick if he records a sack in 2004
* Bumped to 1st round pick if he either records 10 sacks or leads the Bears in sacks in 2004
* 3rd round pick just for making the trade
* Bumped to 2nd round pick if he records a sack in 2004
* Bumped to 1st round pick if he either records 10 sacks or leads the Bears in sacks in 2004
IMHO Drew is just blowing smoke. He doesn't have any leverage. If O-gun sits out the first ten games, I wouldn't let him even dress the final 6. How much money would he get after sitting out a year? No team would want a selfish player like that and on top of it pay him Taylor Money.
