MERGED: For once and for all Brown no backup...

It wasn't even Auburn's website. It was the national champs website.

Newsflash: Sports writers DO NOT know everything. A reporter once said Marino would be a bust in the NFL and a reporter once said that Leaf would make a great franchise QB. Unlike you, I don't believe everything I read. I'd rather see it with my own eyes. I watched Auburn play numerous times, thus the reason for me wanting Ronnie as our RB. You on the other hand, never watched him play and are just going by hearsay.

The sportswriter did not make a prediction on how good he would be. he looked up the STAT. on how many games he started. and that Ronnie only STARTED when Caddy was hurt. that would make him a BACKUP when Caddy was healthy

OOO...good one. How about I play with Kelly Bundy and leave that non-heterosexual stuff to you. BTW, you give Jason Taylor a bad name by using that as your name!! Just my opinion of course!

No, nobody is saying you said Brown sucks (At least I am not), but you do seem to be saying Caddy will be a better Runner then Brown, I just do not agree. I like Brown's size/speed combination, and I think that will help him in the long run more then Caddy.

The only thing i said about Caddy is he started at RB.

I hope you are not a Buckeye fan too. Being from Ohio and all. Damn you give my home state a bad name.

NOTE TO OTHER POSTERS: Not all Ohioians are that bad!! I am the perfect example!!

I don't care either way about Ohio state.

Well personally I think it is a bit more complicated then that, but, that's fine, like I said in my other post, a good argument can be made for either side, but I think with what Brown brings, compared to Caddy and Benson, Brown will be more effective in the NFL.

Exactly but that fact that you bring up how Brown had to settle on being the backup makes me think you deserved to think he was the backup and insuperior to the Caddy. And that Benson is the better runner because he did it for 4 years (starter) at Texas... When Brown was the fulltime starter with the Caddy out in 2002 (175, 1008, 5.8avg) he put up better numbers than Benson ever had behind those huge offense lines at Texas that ran the ball 40+ times a game. Lets end the backup agruement he didn't start at RB I will give you that but thats it...

Close to the bottom of the page:

"Me not starting too many games, I guess the question would be carrying the load," he said. "But if that's all the question they have, that's a good thing, because I feel like I'm pretty confident in that situation."

That is Brown himself talking. and if he didn't START many games than i guess he BACKEDUP williams in those games.

and my interview link has a date when it was. the writers name for the sun herald that did it. my link is not home made. so now tell me how this does not prove a thing.

Like I said. You never watched him play.

Like i said even if Ronnie Brown himself says he was a backup to caddy you people will never admit he was.

He shared carries. He was NOT the backup. You will never admit that either.

But you make it sound as if it were a bad situation.. He learned alot playing fullback and a WR, while sharing time at RB.. To me this is the best situation possible,, more skills less miles...

I admitted he played a lot. but there can only be one starter. and even Ronnie Brown said he did not start many games. so that would make him the backup.
