Merged: Jason Taylor returing to Dolphins?

Ummhttp://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/jason_taylor/m we offered JT a contract extension and he turned it down for a 1.75 Mil offer from our rivals.

We offered him more than 2 Mil so he took less money to play for our rivals..... Believe it or not most dolphin fans don't like the Jets. It's a business for the owners/players/etc. but for us fans we take it personally. There's nothing wrong with that. I don't think JT is losing any sleep tonight because no one on this board wants him to come back.

Do u really think when the jets made th offer that more was on the table from the Phins , get a clue. He turned down an extension during the season which was less than what Charlie Anderson was making. The Jets offer had potential to be a very good one if he had a very good year so lets quit pretending that Taylor took less to be with Jets. im a dolphin fan but i dont pretend that this organization has never scrwed its players. We had the best qb of all time who we basically slapped in face to spend the money on Jay Fielder.

i dont have any problem with him coming back, can move misi inside at times

He's like a hemorrhoid that keeps flaring up and you can never really get rid of ferchrissakes. Don't want him and his fatso sideline gato raid shower back. RIP JT, rest in peace (all the **** ready!)

Please... no more Jason Taylor. He will always be a Dolphin once his career is over. He might play somewhere else this year, but his best is behind him now. He was awesome in Miami. But no more. Please.

Some of you guys are hysterical.

And clearly take this thing way to serious. It's just football. Watch it on Sunday. Work thru the week, repeat.

To hate a player cause he went to the Jets is lulz.

Get over it. There's more important things in life than a football player.

It's just football? IT'S JUST FOOTBALL!!??

Nah, lets allow the youth to flourish. If JT signs, lets hope it's to retire.

its about depth, behind wake and ,isi there is no youth to flourish, in fact we have no depth at olb, he would be a solid backup for the right price.

I think he should do one of those ceremonial signing w/ you guys to "retire a dolphin". I know some still hate him for coming up here but that will go away in time, he's a dolphin and always will be.

Taylor to be a Dolphin again?

The Dolphins' all-time sack leader ruled out another run with the team four months ago, saying "that ship has sailed." But the 36-year-old seemed more open to the idea Friday.

"I appreciate the interest and the concern if there is any," Taylor told the South Florida Sun Sentinel at former NBA star Alonzo Mourning's charity golf outing in Miami. "No ships have sailed, no bridges have been burned.

"There's nothing to do right now (because of the NFL lockout). I'm going to play this year, if there's a season, and I think there will be. ... Until this thing works itself out, I'm playing golf."

The Sun Sentinel reported that the Dolphins are looking for a veteran linebacker to pair with second-year pro Koa Misi opposite Pro Bowl pass rusher Cameron Wake. Taylor spoke positively about working with a player as talented as Wake and likened it to memories of his Miami heyday.

"It's a good spot. It's a good fit for both players," Taylor said. "It's good to be opposite Cam Wake and then for Cam to have somebody opposite him, too. It's very beneficial to both sides. I had the pleasure of playing with Adewale Ogunleye and Trace Armstrong and Kenny Mixon and those guys. We kind of scratch each other's backs."

To me, Taylor is tainted because he played with the Jets. However, Cam Wake did most of his damage rushing from the strong side on passing downs, Taylor did a lot of damage here rushing from the weak side. Using him on passing downs and turning into a pass rush specialist while using Koa Misi on 1st and 2nd down makes sense. We can use Edds and Dansby in coverage on 3rd down and we can mix it up and drop Jason back in coverage and send Dansby along with Wake or any number of combinations. Could prove to be pretty nice pass rush but then Taylor is 36 so I don't know how much he has left.

Its because fans somehow dont realize that football is a business and seem to have alot of hate for players no matter how bad the organization treats em. We treat Zach thomas like a hero because he did not sign with a rival but we have no clue if a rival really tried to sign him and we basically threw thomas away for no reason at all. Parcells is now regarded as an idiot here but people still place all the blame on Taylor. I dont know never played pro football but if we had a new coach and Gm and they cut my friend, brother law and a damn good teammate in the offseason i probably would have not had alot of respect for the new regime. they cut Zach to bring in scrub Reggie Torbor i mean really lol.

I'm sure we can go elsewhere for depth. Even overlooking his past with the team good and bad, we can do better. Bring in what he may do to the lockerroom psyche...I absolutely think we can do better.

He has so much left that in very limited playing time, he got 5.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. How many of each did MISI get, playing full time?
