This should have happened in 2010.

However, be careful of what the alternatives are…

1) Joe with more power
2) Dawn Aponte as GM or VP or something
3) Mike Tannebaum

Yikes

A Scott Pioli, Eric Mangini or Dan Marino as Czar…I could live with that.
 
So long Jeff.

You did some good things, but you made some critical errors.

You should have been relieved of your duties when Parcells and Sparano were gone. You never shouldve gotten involved with those idiots.

You brought us some good players recently and its a shame many dont realize that. There is a good team to work with here once we get a QB. You made some nice moves to bring in some great players on D and some good pass catching weapons.

Your big mistake when you had a chance to start over was bringing in guys that would draft a bad QB. Hopefully, Philbin will be smart enough to move forward with a new QB and people will see what a good team you have put together for us. Hiring Coyle wasnt the smartest of plays since we got Ellerbe and Wheeler in the deal. Dansby opened his mouth too much, but that guy was a player.

Those were really your only mistakes post Parcells. Outside of Tannehill, Ellerbe, and Wheeler, you have really done a nice job the last couple of seasons. I know I will thank you if Philbin brings in a new QB and we have some success off of the work you have done.
 
At last he's gone......feel bad for those who wanted him to stay so bad. I'm sure they're going to miss all those 7 and 9 seasons year after year.

Thats impossible! I have it on good authority no one wants to work for us because we constantly change GM's.
 
Almost wrecked my truck! Finally. Good move Stevie, I just might make it to a game this year after all. Now please allow the next GM to pick ALL his coaches should he choose to.

Gaine makes the most sense, but that tweet from Moe is really interesting. He's been one of the more reliable twitter nuts in recent years.
 
I know who ever comes in could be just as bad but he could also be better. We all(most of it anyway)knew we were never going to win a superbowl with Ireland.

Whoa!

It will be a very interesting off season that's for sure.

I don't think anyone really wanted to keep Ireland that badly so much as they didn't want to fire him just to fire him and face potential instability for years.

Mike Tannenbaum would be not one step down, but entire stories down from Ireland. Ireland just wasn't a people person.

you keep quoting people that have adamently proclaimed that Ireland was safe...that means they obviously have no clue what Ross is thinking. This is the first time in a while where they've actually done something they were supposed to do. Relax and have a beer or take some fiber or something.
 
No excuses for Joe Philbin next year. NONE.
 
You know what this means. Gaine is promoted from withing because not many outsiders are coming in with a coach already in place. After another 7-9 or 8-8 season, everyone gets canned and we start from scratch again.
