Merged: Jeff Ireland Gone

Still unsure why Philbin is still here??? Should been total overhaul, but hey
Not letting that ruin Firedland Day!

NO Mike Tannenbaum, NO Dawn Aponte and NO Carl Peterson. In that order. Anything else I be willing to accept.

Of course is coveted. They know if they mess up they'll get a contract extension.....lol......maybe Ross has learnt you don't have to wait to get rid of people not performing.

Ozzy rules!!

There you go, Ross pretty much gave the fans what they wanted. When the season ended I said out of Ireland, Philbin and Sherman that Philbin was the only one I would really accept coming back. So I am pleased with the developments of the past couple of days. I do like Philbin, but I wouldn't have been outraged if they cleaned house completely. Though I do think Philbin can still be the coach that finally gets us back in the playoffs.

The only concern going forward is how a new GM will interact with a head coach already in place. Rex Ryan and Ron Rivera made it work this past season, but there are plenty of examples of when it didn't work out. The best way might not be the most popular move and just promote Brian Gaine to GM and give everyone a one year trial. If it works, great, if not you can clean house in 2015.

Thanks. LOL.

I bet Al Hague could have motivated the team better than Joe.

I'm not sure if old Al is still alive but I am guessing even dead he would be more motivating than Joe.

Months. Also:

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! This is exactly what I thought about when I heard the news hahahahah

I wanted Ross to clean house but of the 3, Ireland and Sherman were the ones I wanted gone the most.

It makes NO SENSE to bring Joe back after these moves. He will come back…never doubted it. However, the point you raise is my reasoning all the while.

Ross boxed himself in as well because a GM is going to have keep Joe.

I will say this if the Dolphins lose Brian Gaine. I'd be pretty safe to say the ship is sunk

Too bad the new GM wont have as much "money and picks" but hoping he can get us better players with the picks and money he does have to work with.
