Merged: Jeff Ireland Gone

i picked 3 out of 4 of the wildcard games the past week against the spread..

Do I get a medal?

There aren't many other GM openings in the NFL. A GM can swallow a lame duck coach for one year.

That is fine and you can feel better about the team by thinking this way…but I got to ask, why wait that one year? If you admit he is lame, let's get on with it!

I may have soaked in too much happiness. I threw in Aponte because of the praise she's been getting. But I definitely think Philbin and Tannehill are attractive. And I think Ross maybe starting to get some credit in some eyes. He's made some good decisions recently when most expected him to be a stonewall.

Let's look at this a different way. Look how many people have turned us down and disrespected our organization over the recent years. SOMETHING has changed; people, players, FO... owner. Some major fungus has been wiped away AND something added for this to become a coveted job.

Names and faces I suggest may be all wrong or partly wrong. But a job once not desired by most, even before Parcells, suddenly is sending ripples with its opening. Tells me something is finally fixed.

Tannehill maybe…not Joe. Cannot agree.

I just went and got ripped and all I have to say is, I can't believe Santa Claus is actually real.

A lot of people said this…my last part of prediction is Joe gets more power and Aponte gets a bigger title and responsibilities.

No one can take this feeling away from me! 6 long horrible years, we can at least have a day to rejoice

the rest of the day is pure celebration mode!

with a picture of clay to say otherwise.

I just want to say...Mr Ireland, it was nice......

Knowing you got canned!!!!! And don't let the door hit you on the way out!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow.

It amazes me, that on a day of general happiness for this board, someone manages to be a tool right in the middle of it.

What I like is we are only 2 openings for GMs and one is in Tampa with Lovie already there. I think a lot of the young gun GM candidates will like that. We offer an owner willing to spend and commit years to you, a young up and coming QB, good cap, space, talent on both sides of the ball. I can see why it would be a coveted job. I bet if it's an older guy Phibin is out. Just my guess. A young guy may have to take him for a year.

Compared to what Itzdick agreed to go into - between having Rex with 2 non-winning seasons running foisted on him, Sanchez as his cap unfriendly QB, cap hell and a buttinski owner who made them sign Tebow to compete with their big brothers in-house, what the Fins have going, all around is a helluva lot more advantageous. And Itzdick seems to being doing ok. We'll have no problem securing a good GM (although admittedly about 5 of em turned the jest down before the hire), and I'm sure it'll be a similar agreement around keeping Philbin for a year and then making a decision based on certain agreed upon performance criteria.

Last week I told Dolphin Nation Ireland would be fired, which most people knew or assumed would happen. But I detailed for you all how this would play out. Ross demanded that Failbin either fired some of his assistants or he would be shown the door along with them. Failbin as I told you, threw his buddy Mike Sherman under the bus to save is butt. Well I was right, yet again (Ho Hum). Now as a Dolphin fan, this is the best I have felt since the day I heard we had gotten Bill Parcells. Unfortunately that did not work out. Let us hope now that the group of consultants Ross brought in will help him make a sound decision to hire a prominent GM. Hopefully that GM will then get rid of Joe Failbin.

You and a 1000 other people on this site

Wow man. You are like a physchic....I am so impressed with your knowledge. Teach us all your masteful ways. Phinking is king.

I have to restate what many have already stated. This GM position must be defined before we can get an accurate list of candidates. If it has control apparently it will attract the best candidates and that really excites me. However if it isn't a traditional position the list of candidates shrinks drastically and we likely won't get the best person for the job. Let's hope we do this right.
