Merged: Jeff Ireland Gone

Hip Hop Horray. As far as the party poopers out there, we could hire my little toe and still have a better GM. Awesome news.

it's not a hard sell...remember what the consensus around the league is about the qb...very favorable i can tell ya that

i bet people jump at it...you have the toughest thing to find already and the one that if you dont gets you fired the quickest...not a hard fix either if you don't screw it up

i'm with the fire all the scouts crowd...

What I like is we are only 2 openings for GMs and one is in Tampa with Lovie already there. I think a lot of the young gun GM candidates will like that. We offer an owner willing to spend and commit years to you, a young up and coming QB, good cap, space, talent on both sides of the ball. I can see why it would be a coveted job. I bet if it's an older guy Phibin is out. Just my guess. A young guy may have to take him for a year.

I do not believe that. Ross says to you that you have to keep Dawn Aponte AND the HC…that will quickly not be coveted.

If they really are serious and look outside the organization and the best GM candidate will not come with Philbin, Ross will have to consider that very seriously Hayden and may have to let Joe go.

2 years ago, Ross impacted his coaching search by insisting Ireland would stay. Now he wants to hire GM with understanding Philbin stays.

GREAT point by Jackson.

Maybe we should have you pick our new GM Kreskin?

he also went cross country to search for his head coaches replacement without firing the incumbent...not the same thing...the gm is gone this time...no poor ethics here

What I like hearing is agents are calling us. That makes me happy. I think if the right guy comes along and states he wants his own people and here's who they are, Philbin and staff will be gone.

There aren't many other GM openings in the NFL. A GM can swallow a lame duck coach for one year.

the other thing is philbins worse detractors are on this board and this david canter guy...he's respected in the league

again no hard sell...i don't see a lame duck hc situation in the works here at all...with sparano it was obvious

I may have soaked in too much happiness. I threw in Aponte because of the praise she's been getting. But I definitely think Philbin and Tannehill are attractive. And I think Ross maybe starting to get some credit in some eyes. He's made some good decisions recently when most expected him to be a stonewall.

Let's look at this a different way. Look how many people have turned us down and disrespected our organization over the recent years. SOMETHING has changed; people, players, FO... owner. Some major fungus has been wiped away AND something added for this to become a coveted job.

Names and faces I suggest may be all wrong or partly wrong. But a job once not desired by most, even before Parcells, suddenly is sending ripples with its opening. Tells me something is finally fixed.
