MERGED: John Clayton mentions Miami as possible destination for Knowshon Moreno

we need a smart back who can block and catch more than anything, imo. miller is ok for running it except 3rd downs.

I feel like hes the Ben Affleck of running backs...

If hes in a really bad movie he looks like a bad actor...but even when hes in a great movie he only looks average.

With that passing game and that smart of a QB who always knew when to audible down into a run and had complete control of the offense, I feel like alot of RBs couldve produced in that situation.
Didn't you see the video of Knowshon Moreno crying? He is not the Ben Affleck of running backs, that was an oscar performance. Those tears were real and he wasn't even bullied. Daniel Thomas is the Ben Affleck of running backs.

Note to YungRobbin - Ben Affleck actually won an Oscar, but Knowshon hasn't won a Super Bowl.

I had Knowshon on my Fantasy team and watched pretty much every one of his downs last season.

In my opinion here's the pros and cons:

Pros:

Dude is a warrior, will fight for every inch, and will inspire his teammates
Pretty solid pass blocker and can catch well out of the backfield.
Consistent, bruising back

Cons:

No top notch speed
Not extremely shifty or nimble
Not capable of being an every-down back

----

I woud love to have him on the team, but at the right price and under the condition that he's not an every-down type of player.

Ehhhh...

Is he really that much of an upgrade?

I personally just don't see it, he seems like a pretty average RB with exceptional tear ducts....who hit the lottery being the main running option in that offense...

holy cow everyone is really getting heated about this rumor....I don't see how his biggest knock is that he was part of the greatest offense of all time (13 tds)....

Denver isn't signing him because RB isn't a crucial spot for em now that Ball picked up his protection, they spent a high draft pick on him, and he's still on rookie tenure after their plethora of defensive signings.....and newflash, no RBs are getting love in FA because it's still early in FA....no one rushes to sign handmedown RBs.

kid can pass protect, and ours can't. we don't have a good history of drafting RBs, and I'm not sure I trust our FO to pick one out of the draft who is talented enough to come in day 1 and help our running game....because it sure as hell needs help. sign him, sign MJD (2nd choice), I don't really care but I am not going to be upset signing an RB who can pick up a blitz.

I was more so addressing the Peyton part, you've gotta be dense to think he still doesn't have it. I think most people here don't think he is washed up. But right after his injury, there was sure as hell reason to believe he wouldn't be the same player. And the madden thing you keep bringing up is stupid, who is even using that as a source right now?? But about Moreno, yes he is an upgrade over all rb's. But I'd like to see any of our guys in Denver and see how they produce. I'd take Miller as my starter due to his potential behind a better line. Moreno isn't elite or special honestly, his best asset is pass blocking. I remember my Georgia fan friend toting him highly out if college and what happened? Nothing until teams were scared ****less of Manning throwing. I'd sign him I guess but still draft a guy. Get rid of Thomas/Gillislee. Moreno is basically a slightly more talent Mike Gillislee, average all around

Reread below. I never said Peyton was washed up, I said just the opposite. Also look at last years stats--1000+ yds, 13 TDs, 60 catches--he's 100 times better than any of the guys you mention, AND he can block. You again prove my point about being in the clueless club, by posting without knowing the facts. I'm sticking to my point about Madden'tards. I know lots of people who don't even watch football games but are Madden know-it-alls. I still suggest that if Moreno had these numbers on the Dolphins last year we would have easily been in the playoffs.

"It may be a rumor but any Dolphin fan that says "no thanks" or that he is "garbage" is either kidding or is a charter member of the most clueless fans in the NFL fan club. You were probably one of those saying Peyton was washed up too. I'm convinced now that some on this board are the most uneducated, clueless fans in all of sports. Dude, Moreno is so much better in real life than what you must see on Madden or on our real team it's incredible. Perhaps you should put down the controller and turn the xbox off for a few days. Geez some of you so-called Dolphin fans just need to find another team."

There you go--we have a winner! I like MJD but he is already breaking down. Moreno is a proven player that has some mileage left on him. He would be a great stop gap to whomever we draft. By the way, for those of you who follow history, it shows that no one drafts RBs very well, and the best backs come from the later rounds. The Colts are looking pretty stupid right now for making that trade for Trent Richardson last year. I say draft Andre Williams, BC, in the 3rd or 4th round.

Tampa did a good job of collecting RB talent over the last few years....here's hoping Hickey can continue that streak with a mid-round pick.

Not really. They drafted Doug Martin, who is good. But he was a first rounder. All the other backs the Bucs have drafted over the last several years are jags.

Do you struggle with reading comprehension? I didn't say you thought that about Peyton, I'm saying that you're trying to put words in people's mouths on here. And you keep bringing up video games literally NO ONE ELSE is lmao. And you spout no facts, simply your opinion that you keep trying to force feed. I'm agreeing with you in part but the truth us we could do better in the draft. Not saying he isn't an
upgrade but just a mediocre talent. I really don't know why it's so hard to grasp the effect playing on that team had

But really, just stop trying to put words in people's mouths. That is annoying and had no basis

There is a reason that Denver invested a 3 round pick in Montee Ball, up until last year Moreno was a huge bust.

How was he a Bust? He was avg 4.8 yards per carry up until he got hurt in 2011. You do know he was hurt in 2011 right? He tore his ACL. You do know that Denver took Ball as becasue they were not sure how he was going to return after his injury right? You do know that he only played in 7 games in 2012 right that was becasue he was sidelined the beginning of the season coming off of his injry. You realize that once he was 100% he again averaged 4.1 yards per carry right? So tell me again how he was a bust before Manning cause up until Manning going to Denver he was avering more yards per carry.

I would love to hear this. Tell me something I don't know. Help me undertand.

Really dont matter as report is this was a made up rumor.
