MERGED: Josh Gordon Arrested

These "stars" in all arenas of entertainment have flaws.

If dude is stupid enough to chance millions, then the mental midget deserves every criticism thrown his way right now.

That will be nothing but a footnote in a few decades and if we did the same thing and won SBs I'm pretty sure there would just be crickets about it around here.
I would honestly think about a new team to cheer for. Or another sport. As it is, Bullygate made me put a lot of stuff away and I am much less excited about the team than I usually am. It's not a choice, it's the way I feel. Not very proud of this franchise right now and it has nothing to do with results. If it did I probably would not have lasted this long.
Cheating is wrong. Some people don't mind it as much as others but I cannot stand it. That's not a high horse, I have my character flaws too, but cheating is one thing that I have always had a problem with. IMO there's no point in winning if you had to cheat, even if you manage not to get caught. You'll always know you cheated and you'll never really know what it feels like to be a legitimate winner.

I have driven tipsy at times and regret it. However, I learn from my mistakes. Get over yourself. They made mistakes, it's not unforgiveable.

learned from YOUR mistakes did you? thats wonderful.

but you COMPLETELY missed the o/p's point, josh gordon HASNT learned. it keeps happening.

and as far as your statement about "it's not unforgivable", well, who said it wasnt? the o/p didnt. so, who's on a "high horse"?

how long until this drunk kills someone? then is he a "bad guy" you wouldnt want on the team? this isnt a one time thing, not close!

and what do YOU consider driving "tipsy"? what was josh's number that he blew? .01? .07? 1.6?

all this poor guy said was he is glad we didnt invest in him seeing how he already was facing a year suspension and then goes out and does it again!!

and he gets blistered by you. who needs to get over themselves?

i hope they throw the book at his arse because this is the type of guy who WILL kill someone driving drunk. his only hope is to give him some REAL jail time to think about himself and have court mandated treatment while he is inside. what if that family or person he eventually may kill is YOUR relative? it's going to be someones. it's time to get him off the road before someone gets that midnight knock on the door from the highway patrol.

and count me as another who is GLAD we didnt sign him.

The game is too easy for Gordon. He doesn't have any respect for his own ability because it all comes too easily to him.

I wouldn't necessarily bet against him making a comeback -- if you're going to bet on something, bet on talent -- but some time away from the game might help him realize that making tons of money is more rewarding than being a dum dum wanna gangster, which is the type of people I've always heard Gordon spends his time around.

I've never heard about him being a Aaron Hernandez/Marvin Harrison/Sam Hurd type of criminal, just a knucklehead who doesn't give a damn if he plays in the NFL or not.

Oh, well. He doesn't owe it to anyone but himself. He already did helped deliver a fantasy football championship for me in the Pofo league last year. What more could I ask?

What his story should do is give people more respect for the Curtis Martin/Marqise Lee/LeBron James types who did manage to get away from horrific upbrings and make something of themselves.

This is what has always semi surprised me. If I was making $1.2 Million a year and had a problem drinking, I'd hire a driver for $30,000 a year

And I know who a fact that a number of NFL teams have a set up where you can call and get a safe ride home.

What exactly is Gordon productive at? The only times (note the plural) I hear his name is when he needs legal representation.

Umm, IDK...only being the third most productive wide out behind the likes of Randy Moss and Jerry Rice in NFL history in the span of his first two seasons. Not to mention he broke 4 individual records alone last year (dude is only in his 2nd season...) and was rated 16th out of the top 100 of 2013. He is a VERY productive NFL wide receiver. His screw ups off the field don't change that.

...because the dolphins are choir boys. Did we recently have someone suspended for PEDs? At least Gordon is productive.

There is a distinction between an NFL matter and a legal matter. What a ridiculous post. Completely lacking in perspective.

Avoiding the worst shouldn't be the criteria. In patching the stadium we may improve our situation, but at what cost toward where we should be? That's always been my angle.

Similarly, I've emphasized many times that the Dolphin roster of recent vintage shares virtually nothing with the players I remember from my youth, when the locker room would be virtually silent after the rare losses. Henry Barrow on WIOD had trouble finding anyone willing to speak above a whisper. I have a YouTube video of the Canes players after their loss to Penn State in the 1986 Fiesta Bowl. It's similar in terms of being stunned and barely able to communicate.

In contrast, those Dolphin 5th Quarter shows are pathetic. Tannehill gets out there and talks robotically about getting better, that it's a long season. He's not troubled by the latest defeat since he fully expects to lose. He took an incredibly talented Texas A&M team to 7-6, after all. One of the damning photos of recent years is Tannehill obviously shocked after defeating the Patriots last season.

As long as we load up on the Mike Pouncey types, my stadium theory is invincible. Mediocre minds in all the high positions of the franchise don't think there's anything wrong with loading up the roster with goofs like Mike Pouncey and all his hats. Then we can find a first round quarterback who didn't start a college season opener until beyond his 23rd birthday, and so forth. What a great party.

You're wrong. It happens that someone goes out, drinks bit too much and gets caught. You people act like you're innocent and have never done wrong. Give me a break. Get off your high horse. I have driven tipsy at times and regret it. However, I learn from my mistakes. Get over yourself. They made mistakes, it's not unforgiveable.

Wow... I hope you are kidding otherwise you need help also.

Is this Gordon's first time in trouble with the law???

He was already facing suspension from the NFL and this is not normal behavior from anyone.

You mentioned you learned from your mistakes right? Did Gordon learn from his mistakes?

So Josh Gordon suspension upheld. One year. And now Gordon will miss all of next year's training camp as well.

Well, I guess I feel dumb for advocating that we run out and trade a 2nd rounder for him last season.
