Through all the muck, i think it's fairly simple..
He didn't love the paparazzi that followed him when he landed in Opa Locka. He probably got the same treatment in Denver and Arizona. He's a gentleman, so he's probably done with that. He knows the Dolphins facilities well. He obviously likes being in Miami. But he's done with the Hollywood aspect of it, and wants time to think. I'm sure he'd talk to any coach that approached him, because again, he's a classy guy. But he doesn't want to be recruited; he wants to talk football, and see whose thinking is similar to his own.
The guy is a class act, and similar to Pujols, probably doesn't want the Lebron-esque hype surrounding his free agency. He probably just wants time to think about where he wants to finish his career. I also think the Fins and Manning camp have been in contact for a while now, so no need to visit the facilities or do the whole wine n dine nonsense.
Miami, IMO, has already made it's pitch. Philbin will reiterate what the Fins are about. I, for one, am keeping the faith..
