Beat the Jets period. Short sighted ? Yes. Realist ? Probably not. Sorry all you long term planners. You have no control over the win / loss record or the owners decisions.
In your imaginary world we get a great head coach and GM who draft Luck with the first pick and go on to win many superbowls. Every draft pick works out. All trades are for pro bowlers and the stadeum is full every week. News flash: probably not gonna happen. Didn't we have a great new management team and the 1st overall pick not long ago ? How did that work out ?

I'll stay in the present and root for my team. Let the chips fall where they may. I would rather stop watching football than root for my team to lose. Give me the blue pill please.

The big picture will come after the season, but I can NEVER root for the jets in the now. Just think if we beat them 2 times this year with no other wins, they will be known as losers to the losers, haha!

I will never root for my team to lose for the opportunity to get someone who has never played a down in the NFL.

However, it won't bother me one bit if the Phins lose unlike years past. It will be bittersweet either way.If naturally we have a chance at Luck I would love that, but I think it would be absurd to purposely play a season to go after a guy who has never played a game in the NFL. What happens if the Phins actually tanked the season? Then in the Bowl game Luck suffers a knee or shoulder injury that reuqires a huge surgery? Guess what? You tanked your season for a QB who now is no longer that elite prospect. Then what do you do? Consider Landry or Barkley? Guess what again, had you naturally played your season and won your 7-8-9 games, chances are you would have been able to get one of them anyway.

If the Dolphins are "tanking" the season, it would explain all these nagging injuries this team seems to be suffering

But I will always root and cheer for the Phins to win.

Why is 7 wins any better than 6, 5, 4, 3 or even 0 wins? If you want to hold out hope that we can still get into the playoffs because technically we won't be completely eliminated from winning the Super Bowl until we have 7 losses, thats fine. But to want wins just for the sake of getting a number thats about as satisfying as kissing your sister.

I want to beat the Jets next week because it'll likely be a dagger in their backs for the season. If we can't win the SB the next best thing for me is for the Jets to be embarrassed all season long.

if there's 2 games i'd want to win this year the jets games would absolutely be the ones...and i think its possible but not probable...the jets are struggling running the ball and stopping the run and the lack of a running game is exposing mark sanchez

Quick swallow this (it's good for 2 weeks)

Here's a thought.

Those of you actually rooting against the Dolphins? What happens when this cancer becomes known by the players?

Dont be upset when there is a mass-migration of talent from this team to others where they have fanbase that actually gives a ****.

Why should they play to win? They get a paycheck either way.

If their own fanbase is pulling for them to lose, they might as well just pack it in, collect their checks, and take it easy.....and then look for other opportunities next year

Just sayin.........
