Jones didn't say much. None of these guys really said much. All they did was thank people and talk about their excitement.

Wayne is talking about Dan Marino. Says they have been in contact for a while.

Wayne: "We tried to find someone better, but we couldn't." He says they went through the whole GM process but Rick was better than all of them.

Here's the gist.

Rick Spielman has been promoted to general manager. To resolve the question of whether Spielman reports to Wannstedt or vice versa, Wayne Huizenga has created the new position of "senior vice president of football operations" and put Dan Marino in there. They've said nothing specific about Dan's role other than both Spielman and Wannstedt will report to him and that Marino will have final decision-making authority if there is no consensus.

This is nothing more than a cosmetic change.
