Merged: Rick Spielman is a GENIUS....../Rick Spielman Thread

It's great to be talking good about our personnel decisions finally. RS has done a good job for his first year. The personnel decisions should've been stripped from Wanny a long time ago. Now Wanny get's to show us if he can go out there and coach.

Good luck Wanny but if it's same old run-pounding trying not to lose football hopefully I'm writing good things about what the Dolphins new coach will be doing next year.

Good job RS. Hopefully Wayne realizes that change isn't always so bad.

Good points about seeing if Wanny can coach this year.

Well if he thought Davis/Suggs was better.......how is he a genius? That makes no sense.

Davis is on par with Derrius Thompson. And Suggs is always hurt and might even miss this weeks game. So, in return for O-Gun we could have got an injured RB and another Derrius Thompson. Yet, we got Chicago's #1 and a RB with big-time potential just needing an opportunity.

IM not knocking Rick, don't get me wrong here. Im just saying I would say he was more lucky than genius these past few weeks. You make your own luck and Rick will get all of the credit if these moves pan out, but if Cleveland said yes to Davis/Suggs........then we never see Booker (who is clearly better than Davis) and we don't get Gordon (who might be comperable to Suggs or maybe looked at as slightly less.
Cleveland simply wasn't parting with Suggs. You can't make a trade if the other team doesn't agree to it. I would rather us have Suggs but Cleveland wouldn't deal him. Booker and Gordon a re a good combo for OGun

But he didn't want the 3rd. He wanted A-Train and Terell. The Bears didn't want to part with A-Train.

Once again, Rick looks great because another team said no!

Im not knocking RIck, but "genius" is a big lable to put on someone before his team has yet to play one down of one real game. That's all. He may be a genius, Im just saying........let's wait before we proclaim it.
That's why he insisted on the 3rd because he couldn't get Atrain. He knew he would use that 3rd for an RB elsewhere.

i disagree about boston, he was a class act since he came here, he lost weight, he was spending his last 2 weeks of "free time" at a speed camp to get even faster, david boston was in no way a waste of time, its a shame he can´t play this year
he was a huge risk even physically. What he's done to his body was not normal under any circumstances. I also bet he was a class act in preseason on both of his former teams. I guess we won't find out what he's like in regular season. I wouldn't be surprised if he never see's the football field as a fin, ever.

So basically you are saying there are questions? hmmmm didnt know that. Ok so here are some Bills questions that cant be answered anymore than the above can w/o games played.

1. How is the Henry/McGahee situation play out, nice problem but does discontent set in?

2. Was last year and aborition for Drew, was he showing age, was it the o-line that caused him to falter? And does that mean he does any better this year?

3. Is Villareal enough to bring that o-line to respectability?

4. Is the Bills pass rush any better and is the secondary sound with an aging Vincent?
Are you lost?

I agree Cleveland wasn't parting with Suggs......but is he a genius or is he lucky Cleveland said NO? If Cleveland says yes, then we end up with Davis and Suggs.

When, we COULD OF HAD (and do have) Booker and Gordon which is a better deal than Suggs/Davis. The combo of Booker/Gordon is better than that of Suggs/Davis.

He didn't have to insist on the 3rd, it was a given.

Booker for O-Gun straight up wasn't happening. Rick wanted a 2nd, and it was reported for a while we got a 2nd, instead we settled for a 3rd!

Not really. There were rumors he already started to be a pain in the *** in SD during minicamp when he got into a shouting match with the weight trainer. Nothing like that happened in Miami. His weight was down to 230 with Miami. He'll see the field next year.

I heard Chicago offered a 4th and RS insisted on a 3rd.

boston was right at home with the WR coach
Sullivan would of made him what he was again
he was working on reaching the form taht was needed
boston was a great pick

Incorrect. Rick wanted a 2nd and we ended up with a 3rd

NO...It's pure genius........

Just look at it....Rick asked for the most that he could get.....and then asked for comparables in asking for Suggs/Davis and Booker/Thomas....

He then GETS the COMPARABLE deal with Gordon/Booker..........
Not comparable. Davis/Suggs is far better.

This was cooked up in the lab....trust me on this Rick is a Genius...
Lets see how he performs on the field before labling RS a Genius. Also there are no geniuses in football. Einstein was a genius.

Section126 said:
HE KNEW the Rams would take a 3rd rounder for Gordon,
Not rocket science. Why wouldn't a team take a 3rd rounder for a 3rd string backup? I would.

Section126 said:
and he ended up getting a higher pick in the third round......
He did? Does Miami have the last pick in the 1st? Yes. Miami is Super Bowl Champs.

Section126 said:
HE IS A GENIUS....we should kiss the ground that we have this guy.
Yea, hmmm ok. He turned a All Pro DE into a former PB possession WR and a 3rd string RB. Must have been hard.

Section126 said:
My only beef with Spielman is that he wasn't aggressive enough in pursuing Brunell....that's it.
Brunell? Get real.

I consider Booker a little better than Davis. Suggs better than Gordon so we got half and half.

By the way, are you Mike Oliva? Just wondering. Good discussion though!!
