MERGED:Say NO to the retractable roof/retractable roof on Dolphins Stadium

Is the retactable roof a good idea?

I hope for a retractible roof. As long as it's sunny, it won't be closed. But playing in the rain does us no good.

But I think a lot of people are missing the point here. The main reason Wayne wants a dome is for the other 7 months out of the year (I'm hoping the Phins play a lot of January ball  ). He wants the ability to hold big concerts and events and be able to guarantee that the weather won't be a problem.

Please vote NO to adding a retractable roof on the stadium. Our players practice in the heat and humidity all through the summer and this gives us a small advantage on gameday when teams who practice in cold weather areas come to town.

Do you think they would put roofs on Giants stadium, Foxboro stadium, Rich Stadium?????? Heck NO. They want to have an advantage.

JUST SAY NO!! Let the Jets, Bills and Patsys sweat their butts off in September!

:fire:

Retractable roof=yes.

Pittsburg game sucked, hurricanes suck.

the day the dolphins stop playing on natural grass under the natural sun is the day that i stop watching the dolphins. even though i can't go to the games because i live on the west coast, there is just a feeling about being outside. whenever a game is on television indoors, i turn off the channel. it is too dark and stale.

So you haven't watched a Dolphins game when they play inside, at night or when it was rainy?

I just don't get the drama I guess.

hey MO on this is if its nice out the roof will be open anyway ao whats the big deal. It keeps them out of the sloppy hardcore rains

I tell you what,
Sometimes I wish we had a retrackedable roof. It could work both ways. But your right about football being plaed outdoors.

Dome teams are notoriously soft and have never won a Super Bowl that wasn't played in a dome. Besides the fact that football is a game that is meant to be played outdoors on grass, putting a dome or retractable roof would make us soft. The elements are part of the game, don't take them away.

Being a huge Dolphin fan - I'll never go to a September or October 1:00 PM game again. It's just too damn hot. You buy a beer, get back to your seat - it's warm in two minutes. The sun is hard, the temperature in the sun is way up there, there's no breeze in the stadium because it's in a full bowl shape...

It's tough being a fan the first couple of weeks. I'd much rather site in front of my 60" HDTV in my recliner and enjoy the game there, switching to the NFL Ticket during commercials.

I did go to three Fins games this year... but always avoid the early afternoon games in the first two months....

Yes - I think it's an advantage to the Fins - but it's hard sitting in the stands in those conditions. And it will be easier to fill the stadium with a little shade....

*I Like A/C in South Florida!

i say use the money and get some more talent, who needs a roof in south flordia, unless he is worried about more hurricanes which probably wont be a problem

are you from this area? it rains like everyday in september and rain can start up any 2 minutes without notice...please add a roof we can turn on the heater in the building if you want humidity.

To add to that you do realize this is the Marlins domicile too, and games can be CALLED if its raining. I think this is the most urgent need for a roof.

at least theyve brought a championship to the city...

the dolphins have embarassed us for the last 20 years.
