Just a fan...
Danny Amendola is a member of the St. Louis Rams and on their present roster. He is not available at this time.
I only here you judge RGM for what he did in the CFL. You obviously never saw this guy play in college, cause if you did you would have known the potential he has. You also make it sound like I want this kid to be our number 1 WR, all I want is for him to make the team and fill the 5th WR spot as a KR/PR and develope.
Stop trying to put words in my mouth and I'll stop posting about RGM period..., you are the guy pushing RGM and I am pushing back - with reality
Tell me who is gonna be our KR/PR, who has the ability to make people miss or the speed to take it the distance.
Sure we need a KR/PR but we have a few months to figure that out - no...?
I know Turner does not, your poster boy Ginn is gone (Thank god), and the 5th WR spot is wide open.
Ginn is not my posterboy but seriously he has scored touchdowns in this league... , Ginn is not going to the CFL ever...
Turner could not even get on the field, the reason was he could not create seperation between CBs. Miami has gotten a number 1 WR who Turner is very similiar to and Miami won't put Turner in goal line situation when they have Marshall. Turner can't play ST. They also have Hartline who showed he is a weapon in goal line situations. In other words Turner is a goner, if he continues with his lack luster effort.
RGM can KR, PR & play WR. He will also play special teams, so the kid has a good chance to make the team.
RGM will be back with the BC LIONS this year or at least in the CFL where he may yet flourish as a household name..., playing those listed positions...
Stop being so negative, cause kitty kat Ginn is here no more.
RGM couldn't tie Ginn's shoes
Oh yeah and while you keep dogging RGM all we keep hearing is praises from reporters and coach, similiar to how Bess began his career as a Miami Dolphin.
Praises really - in shorts and a helmet...If you want a build a bust of RGM then you have to take the scutiny as well my friend...
Hawaii is in the WAC conference and last time I checked the Fins have several players on the rosters from that division in our roster, so what is your point on who he played.
Dude if you cannot make it big in the CFL - where the rules favour the returner - you won"t make the NFL even on a team that needs a specilist as bad as we do..., Stephan Logan current KR for the Steelers had a tryout with BP & Sons went to the CFL lit it up as an every down player for the same Lions - and now he returns kicks for a living for the Steel..., I hope RGM makes it, and I look "bad" in the process - to say I never watched the Dreads is wrong - to say I watched them as much as you did no I didn't - to say that you understand the CFL after you made that Ricky comment (twice) you simply don't - you don't unerstand just how unspectacular RGM is and while I hear the excuses...
So I raise the question again - RGM got seperation in college but not in the CFL - A professional league (cough) but nothing the quality of the NFL - So how is RGM gonna get seperation in the NFL when he couldn't in the CFL where the rules lean towards the QB and WRs all the way... The WRs have motion, a yard off the ball, they can run full steam towards the line of scrimmage - Oh I see Brandon Marshall is going to demand a lot of attention so RGM can just play underneath... Well if that's Bess role what happens to Bess who has proven he can play at this level - with a few hiccups...
RGM has his own thread - you thought he was deserving -
The only way we are gonna solve this is once Training Camp is around. I would have to see video of his play in the CFL to see what you are saying, till then to me he has a chance to make the team and he did an excellent job of impressing the coaches during the rookie minicamps. Sparano mentioned RGM all weekend and went out of his way to say RGM has impressed him.
The year I began noticing RGM & Bess in Hawaii games was the year the Trifecta got here. I remember saying we could use those two guys on our team, both looked like stars in the run and shoot offense. After watching one Hawaii game early in the season I was hooked. I would stay up till sometimes 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. watching Hawaii games. The way Bess and RGM played was just amazing.
So, when we signed Bess as UDFA, I knew he what it took to make the team, just like I know now RGM has what it takes to make the team. When Davone finally made the team I was extremely happy and I think now its RGM time.
I hope he pans out and is all that for us. I still am concerned when I look at his CFL stats. We'll see in TC how he does. Maybe he's allergic to cold and will do better in Miami than in Canada.![]()
THE DREAD HEADS'
It's a special bond that began on the field at Hawaii, where the duo became known as ``the dread heads'' while piling up huge numbers. As juniors, they combined for 214 catches and 25 touchdowns in 2007 before declaring for the NFL Draft.
``It must have been a heck of a 7-on-7 [passing drill during practice] down there in Hawaii when you're throwing the ball around and these two guys are moving all over the place,'' Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said.
Whereas the friendship remained firmly intact, the paths of both began to diverge. Both undrafted, Bess landed in Miami and immediately thrived in a system that relied on his nonstop motor. But Grice-Mullen, who landed in Houston, tweaked his hamstring before he could prove the same type of worth as Bess.
``If you have an injury as a free agent, you're gone,'' Grice-Mullen said. ``That was the thing that hurt the most. It wasn't like I got released because I wasn't good enough. I just wasn't able to show my talent.''
Definitely Henne needs a speed receiver, we need a kick returner, Bess needs a play buddy, RGM may be all of the above.
No way he's just fodder, they went after him early and hard when he became available. They've seen something. Also, one of the things that's a positive about this video is some of these highlights are against Pac-10 teams, one of the power conferences of college football. Now I'm not the kind of person who thinks that mid majors are necessarily inferior, but it tends to drop the stock of players in those conferences unless they are workout warriors (if Jerry Hughes played in the SEC or Big 12...I can safely bet he'd have been a top 15 pick). If RGM has the work ethic, I think he has the tools to make the team, we need another WR and I think the front office sees it as his job to lose.
Regardless of the competition the guy is a player. He runs excellent routes and catches the ball with his hands like one suppose to. Amazing how many wrs do body catches in college and got away with it. In a pass happy offense led by a guru in Jones he learned all the good habits. Him and Bess being on the same team they will feed off one another as far as technique, strategy vs corners, learning from one another, and of course being buddies. Is he the replacement for Turner? Could very well be. Comparing him to Ginn as a receiver..no comparison. As a sprinter with elite speed he is no Ginn. But he is a baller....Ginn is not.
