Merged: The Official Ryan Grice-Mullen Thread

This is what I find comical about this thread last year Cam Wake arrives with a sparkling CF resume and he isn't good enough to make the team period..., RGM arrives with an average CFL resume and he is a lock because we need a KR/PR - again did it take 1.5 yrs for his injury to heal beacuse he ran back punts and kicks in the CFL and he was average in a league with lopsided rules that favour the return teams...

Did you know...? That the Punt coverage team must give the PR a 5 yard cushion to field the ball...? That translated in a 9.6 Yard average in the CFL...

The answers will come with pads on so let's temper ourselves

Hey, no one said Wake was not good enough to make the team, and I saw a lot of guys on this forum talk up Wake just like we have done with Grice.

Huh? :rolleyes2: where were you...? People were nearly in tears over a CFL player taking a roster spot... It was a freakin gong show...

Talk up Wake...! Wake produced in the CFL..., people wouldn't on our site would not believe how effective he was was as DE...

What has RGM done...?

Shouldn't we have an official page for Dmitri Tsoumpas and Rolle Lumbala too...

Chubbs wants to keep your RGM thread on the front page... :D

I think he has a good shot of playing his way onto the roster... which would likely be the end of Turner's days as a Dolphin, which is fine by me.

So you add another straight line 180 lb speed guy to the roster - why trade Ginn...?

I don't think RGM can be considered a "straight line" guy, he has some wiggle, much like Bess does. Who else are you implying is a straight line guy? Hartline? I might buy into that, but not RGM.

It was time for Ginn to go, I think most would agree with that.

Rev I must have missed it.

Rev I know you have a strong opinion about RGM, but RGM has been the most talked about player since the Rookie Mini Camps ended. Does that not tell you something? Forget this thread for a second. Sparano praised RGM in all his press conference, the beat writers can't stop writing about him and the fans are pulling for him. I don't understand how you being a fin fan can't pull for the kid.

Didn't see this wiggle in the CFL...? Stefan Logan who returns kicks for Pittsburgh he had plenty of wiggle in the CFL... Logan tried out with us and couldn't make it and went to BC of the CFL and lit up the league...

This jitterbug broke ankles in the CFL but it doesn't translate in the NFL - I wonder why...?

BC Lions
Logan signed with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League for the 2008 CFL season. He rushed 122 times for 889 yards, and made 52 catches for 477 yards and three touchdowns.

Logan actually had a pretty decent year returning kicks though didn't he?

I can pull for anyone - I have honest questions and see question marks when placed next to the CFL resumes of Wake, Stefan Logan (listed as a KR) and even Kelly Campbell (WR) is all...

I am not sure he is the most talked about I am not there... I have seen a few photographs..., of guys catching balls...

I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder...

This is an "official" discussion thread is it not...

Rev since the RGM topic has been hot my column for tomorrow will be on him.

As for the other two Canadian imports on our team, I have heard good things about them, but in all honesty does Rolly really have a chance with Polite locked in as the starter? Tsoumpas is in the same situatuion, Fins are loaded at Guard.

RGM has the best chance of the Canadian imports to make the team. He is WR & KR/PR, a position this team needs to fill. The kid also has a nice resume and was praised by Sparano for what he has been showing at OTAs.

Rev ease up there, I was not trying to offend you, bro.

RGM is all over the papers here in Miami and if you listened to all of the coaches press conference from the Mini-Camps the coach had some pretty nice things to say about RGM. The kid did not tear up the CFL, but he has potential and his playmaking skills are hard to ignore.

Just look at the record punt return he had in the playoffs last year. He has admitted he was not suppose to catch the ball back there, but do to his playmaking abilities he will be in the record books of the CFL for a long time. I ask you this question how many times have we asked ourselves if Bess was just a little faster on PR, we could be better of. Well, Grice is a faster, shiftier version of Davone and I think it will help him a lot on a team with no clear identity at KR or PR.

No we agree on most of those counts except that Rolle and Dmitri are CDNs I believe - and RGM is an American Import from a CFL standpoint as was Wake and Logan...

Look forward to your reoprt and I again I say to everyone temper your expectations - In 2008 just after his release in camp by these same Dolphins Logan had a 7.3 yard carry average on 122 carries 4 TDs and 9.5+ average with over 400 yards in the pass-catching department with 3 TDs...

In the NFL last year Stefan Logan listed as a WR\KR had a 27 yard Return average... 0 TDs 4 retturns over 40 yards... This guy is a jitterbug...

Watch the Youtube Highlights of Logan as a CFL RB in 2008 and you'll get my drift...

More interested in the discussion back and forth between you and Finatic. this is what the true definition of a civil discussion is supposed to be on Finheaven. :) Loving every post about it :).

PS, Yes I am pulling for RGM, but not banking on it just yet.

My exact opinion.

One of the other reasons RGM shone at rookie camp was he had been schooled by Bess up front. We'll see in TC whether he has NFL skills or not.
