Merged: Tim Couch Worth a Look - Why Not?

Uh, not having to pay a top 5 draft pick again next year

With next years draft class? I'm going to go way out on a limb and suggest that a top 5 pick would be much more marketable next year than a top 5 pick in this years draft.

Draft class, good or bad, doesn't matter. We would not be able to afford another top 5 contract next year. No way, no how!

We could trade it. Just so we're clear, you want Frerotte to start and have us in the 8-8 range?

If Gus can start and get us in the 8-8 range or AJ starts and gets us to 6-10 for instance. I would take the 8-8 all day. You would rather lose more games for what reason exactly?

i thought he got a raw deal in cleveland, losing his job to injury. he has played well and shown good leadership skills(well, besides the whole crying thing). he doesnt get enough credit fro doing a pretty decent job in cleveland when called upon.

for those of you calling him a bust, these are his career stats. while not spectacular, he's hardly a bust:

good stats for jay fiedler, not for a 1st overall pick though but i too wouldn´t mind to see what he´s got

Sure, he's worth a look I guess but I doubt we'll make any big jump on him.

Personally, I'm not too impressed with him. He's neither here nor there in terms of talent, IMO. But his age is an advantage over Gus and I do think he could beat out A.J. The guy showed he could play in college so who knows?

Couch should just take his undeserved fortune and live it up, down and all around with his awesome new wife, former Playmate of the Year Heather Kozar. She was also a Barker's Beauty a few years ago. Heaven forbid, but if we sign Couch then Heather Mitts plummets to a distant second among our QB babes.

Holy cow she is hot......bring him in........and let his wife st somewhere near sec 114.

A knife in the backs of Frerotte and Feeley?

Come now!
First off both these guys know that football is a competitive arena and no position is gauranteed, they need to be earned.

Secondly, these guys would be smart enough to know and you certainly should be as well to realize that if Couch is brought in at this point it would be for the 3rd string job this year only. Couch is going to need time just to get back into the game of football let alone having to learn an entire system 3 weeks into preseason. If Couch is signed it will be for his future potential, he will sit, learn this system and compete for a starting job NEXT YEAR.
:yeahthat:
